President Obama is Stupidly
It's a crying shame that in this country, the PC wars have gotten so bad that we must fully pad ourselves (mentioning our own race, our political affiliations, etc...) before launching into our opinions so as not to be deemed biased. Actually, this only really goes towards white people. If a black man goes on a diatribe against Bush, he's seen as anti-Bush. If a white man voices his disdain for Obama, everyone sits there wondering if he's racist. This was not a case of racism. At most, it was a case of an officer using bad judgement to not walk away from a verbal confrontation. The neighbor said it was a burglary. If it was my house, I would have been offended if the cops DIDN'T ask for my ID. Another article listed "proof" of Cambridge police's ongoing racist behavior by citing how a black staff member was accosted after police spotted him using tools to open his bike lock. Are you kidding me? The police sees a man trying to open a bike lock with tools, and he's suppose to just walk on by? I don't want to live in that neigborhood. Why is it o.k. to think a well dressed white man driving in a low income black neighborhood is trying to buy drugs, but being suspicious of aminority youth, sporting the gang banger style of clothes, cruising around a high end neighborhood is considered racist? Is generalized stereotyping of an entire race and thinking that all white people are pot heads and all blacks are thugs wrong? Yes. But do we have to sacrifice our common sense on the altar of political correctness as well? The officer was just doing his job. Cops who pull people over for driving cars they think are out of their racial price range is profiling. Cops being curious because they see someone trying to jimmy the lock of their car is not. Cops responding to a burglary called in by a neighbor and double checking to make sure the occupant is the rightful owner is NOT. Everyone in this country wants special treatment. We dream of lawsuits and lotteries. We are becoming addicts addicted to stupidity. Pretty soon, we'll be pointing so many fingers that they'll all start to sound like "wolf, wolf, wolf..." and breed an apathy that will bring this country down.
