Santee – where everyone wants to live
I found Ms. Cissy's intolerance of other folk's Pride display (a Confederate flag) bizarre considering she's about my age. Celebrating Southern Heritage is not racism, contrary to modern historical revisionism. Falling for such hatred to discredit our own history is like denying that Robert E. Lee did not do more for post-war unification than anyone else in our history - it just shows one's ignorance and lack of tolerance. Be it the Stars & Bars or a Rainbow, we all deserve to express ourselves. (My great-great grandfather [IV NY Volunteers] gave his life in the civil war defending the Union, and the Constitution, but I am not offended by the display of anyone's pride or heritage).— February 1, 2019 12:21 p.m.
