Reality Bites
Interesting factoid given by Baby Bonham on the Nuge. Pretty damn cool run-in and conversation to have. I am a fan (not of Foreigner, but of the bizarre). These shows are all so cookie cutter that the comedy from them has finally escaped and I find myself waking up to a puddle of drool on my couch pillow at 3am with a pounding headache. That's reality. I dig Top Chef, Project Runway, or TUF (The Ultimate Fighter). Something about watching people create and/or compete pulls me in if it is done well. But even on these shows, the ending credits quickly flash something along the lines of "Producers of the show were consulted and in agreement before any of the contestants were voted off by the judges" and I find my eyebrows furrowing a bit. Plus, there are only so many season of these shows they should run. It's like the show Prison Break. It got good ratings, yes, but with that premise there is only so long you can run with it. If you're going to be a vigilante, we should expect equal opportunity for all, both young and old. Even if it was her best friend (which I doubt) one should still have a contract when it comes to their business. If not, then she basically fell for the bait like them senior citizens. Well, here a few problems I see with your revenge.... If he does indeed feel the need to go ahead and press charges on her for stealing, she is the one who goes to court for the whole "Sting Operation : Pizza Payback", not you. Our law system does not work where she could argue "he failed to pay me X amount of dollars for wedding photo's so I decided to recoup my losses this way". Basically, she'd be eff'd out of another $100 (and other penalties) to pay back this douche. If she didn't hold a grudge or want to seek revenge, there is no reason for you to do so. This was her situation to deal with how she chooses. Obviously, if he eff's with you - he's got another thing coming to him (assuming you would eat him out of business to say the least). But let her handle this the way she wants. It's not going to change him. And at least she now knows ALWAYS have a contract agreement in these situations. It's your business. It's how it has to be done. Let me ask you this - in an older blog entry you write about how you don't feel bad for old people who get ripped off. You say it's their dumbass fault for falling for the bait. Well, what's the difference with this. Why isn't it her fault for not having a contract with her client. That is rule number one. Hell, I learned this by watching Judge Wapner (was that his name?) when I was 5 - PEOPLE'S COURT, baby.— September 25, 2007 2:08 p.m.
Controversial Carl's Commercial
They actually haven't pulled the commercial. I just saw it on television last night. Maybe certain networks pulled it - but not all. You know on the chalk board, where they have a thin waist girl with a bubble butt (like a shelf, you could set your drink on it) , but then one of the guys takes an eraser and erases most of the bubble and then points and sings "I like flat buns" .... yeah, ain't no blackman gonna do that. Of course, you're right and he's out on bail. Now for the world wide "I'm out and I'm free" OJ tour coming to a town near you. Hold your babies out for a kisses. I've seen him so much on the television now that it starting to make me ill to my stomach, literally. If they launch Bonds baseball into space maybe we can request them to send the Heisman along with it? By the way, I absolutely love the idea of the Palace Station T-shirts. 12 Items or Less, Grocery Store Etiquette Part II
I'm with you on having a stack of baskets in the back of the store. That is a great suggestion. So many people argue the coupons or price. Somehow, I always get in the line where the person in front of me wants to argue with the clerk about the price of a product. The person swears the machine is wrong, because they saw the product advertised somewhere, for much less. Little does that person know that advertisement was for VONS and their at Ralphs so we need to keep it moving. You know what the hell else pisses me off? Those damn discount cards all of the grocery chains are jumping on. I can't go on about this. It's all making my face and ears turn red and I'm starting to smell smoke.— September 17, 2007 3:38 p.m.
