Everything Gives you Cancer
At my apartment building there is a big sign which hangs from the wall where our mailboxes are located. It reads "THIS FACILITY CONTAINS ONE OR MORE CHEMICALS KNOWN TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CAUSE CANCER, BIRTH DEFECTS OR REPRODUCTIVE HARM CALIFORNIA HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SEC. 25249.6". So, you may get cancer from working your night shifts, but I'm going to get cancer from checking my mail. You say tomoto, I say cancer.— December 3, 2007 11:03 a.m.
Overrated Movies
First off, let me clarify that I definitely liked Mystic River. This is why I would recommend it to others. I just have heard SO much hype about the move (and rightfully so, with all the nominations and awards) that I expected something a little different. The actors, acting and storyline were done well but I think it could have been more since things seemed to fit so right. I felt the fact that the same night Penns daughter getting killed being the same night Tim Robbins killed someone was a convenient coincidence. Although without this, we wouldn't have the movie we had so I understand it. I also thought that Penns wife in the movie was a bit over the top with the whole "it's okay you killed your friend (Tim Robbins) you did what you had to do my king yada yada". The whole Kevin Bacon's wife silent phone calls were absolutely unnecessary and didn't add anything to the movie, at all. I guess the wives bothered me more then anything.— December 3, 2007 10:56 a.m.
Evel Ways
I completely thought Evel died a few years back. Maybe it was just another insane accident he or is son got in. I didn't realize one could get sued over imitating another persons image on a music video, but I guess it is more of a trademark look with Evel.— December 2, 2007 10:18 p.m.
Overrated Movies
Interesting. I wanted to see this movie pretty bad, maybe I will rethink this. I've heard that audiences are not approving of this movie, and I can always save 10 bucks. You know, I recently watched Mystic River for the first time. Now, I'm not saying that movie is horrible, I'm just saying I expected more since it is so raved about. I had problems with far fetched coincidences and certain things characters said or acted on that just didn't even seem to fit in general. I'd throw an overrated towards that movie, although I would still recommend one to see it. Is that odd?— November 26, 2007 11:32 a.m.
Trying to Watch TV
Those network logos cost a friend of mine a nice chunk of cash when they purchased a new plasma TV not so long ago. Wife left on the Home Shopping Network overnight and the "HSN" logo image got burned into screen, thus appearing (ghost like) on every channel you flipped to. Was not covered under warranty. I've heard the new ones don't really have this problem, although it's not completely fixed.— November 25, 2007 11:33 p.m.
House of the Rising Harriers
Damn right. This is America, and that's how we roll.— November 13, 2007 10:27 a.m.
The Razors Edge
Could The Brando fall into the category? Damn...no. I am picturing something along the lines of what John Waters has.....but I don't know if John Waters moustache is known enough to be the title for such the stache "The Waters"....hmmm....."Gentlemens Moustache"...Yes, you're right and I think this works best. It is added to the list Fifibutton. Gentlemens Moustache aka The Painter Now....to name some famous mustaches themselves, building a life and career of their own.... Burt Reynolds Moustache (is it's own entity) Friedrich Nietzsche (Philosophize the Stache) Hulk Hogans Moustache (aka Brother Moustache) Ron Jeremys Moustache (For the Ladies) Geraldo Riveras Moustache (Been around the world and back) Jaime Heinmans Moustache (His moustache is no Myth Buster) Tom Selleks Moustache (The Magnum PI was all the rage in the 80's) Nathan Winds (aka Cocheese) Moustache (Sabotage Stache) Albert Einsteins Moustache (E=mcmoustache) Ned Flanders (Yoda-li-doe-da-li-moustache) Joseph Stalins Moustache (Moustache of Steel, also defeated Adolf Hitlers Moustache) Sonny Bonos Moustache (Actual writer of I Got You Babe) Freddy Mercurys Moustache (Still alive and well) Stevie Wonders Moustache (One needs no sight with a moustache guiding the fingers) Crap....I could go on for hours.— October 30, 2007 11:40 p.m.
