Last Call
It was pouring this weekend. I've been to The Fleetwood, used to be Luna Lounge. Their food is damn good, but pretty pricey for the portion. Although, it's probably what should be considered a normal size portion and not something the size of your torso like you get from Hash House A Go-Go. It's funny when you hear people at parties say they're not drunk and you just seen them consume 20 shots of some liquor over the past 3 hours. I don't care if you're Walter Hudison (the guy who was in Guinness Book for fattest guy); you're drunk when you've had 20 shots.— January 27, 2008 10:14 p.m.

Pac-Man Fever
Fifibutton - you must see the movie : King of Kong - A Fistfull of Quarters. It's on DVD at the end of this month. And the article - well, listening to the radio this morning I heard Randy Moss (did we really think he'd end the season WITHOUT catching some type of case?) is being accused of assault by some woman in Florida. It's said they've known each other for over 11 years. He held a press conference, denying all accusations stating he wouldn't put himself or his team in this type of jeopardy when so close to a perfect season. He goes on to tell people that "beating women is not him" and if people would just look at his track record we would all be able to see he is telling the truth. I nearly hit a car from laughing so hard when hearing his statement. When you're Randy Moss, you shouldn't be asking people to check out your track record.— January 17, 2008 4:42 p.m.

A Giant Day of Football
Fans can be such jackasses. I never understood the screaming matches and fist fights which always seem to manifest at games or sports bars. There's always some guy who likes some team which is the rival to your team and he is screaming at the top of his lungs, hopping around mad pointing in your face about how "YOU SUCK". It's very hard to contain yourself when this happens. Very, very hard. At the same time, two jackasses don't make a right. It's all about a quick "eff off" and continue watching the game. Ugh, even baseball games - now I'm having a flooding of bad screaming match memories I've had to witness (not involved) at games.— January 14, 2008 4:46 p.m.
A Giant Day of Football
(Hopefully last part to my post)... Here's the thing though, if LT is SO against the smack talking and unsportsmanlike like conduct, I'm hoping he talks some smack behind the scenes to Rivers and some other of his teammates about them doing the same thing. I'd also like for people to start coming forward and express how they're not okay with this. By people, I mean Charger fans and sportscasters and news reporters and morning show hosts. See, on KGB one of the hosts was saying how much she loves the fact that Rivers talks smack. Now, she may truly love it and be okay with anyone doing it on any team. Yet I'm guessing 98% of people who say they love the fact Rivers is talking smack would completely bitch, moan and complain about a QB on any other team doing the same thing. I am sure they would be appalled and we wouldn't hear the end of it if this game had been in reverse. Imagine, The Colts playing this playoff game here at Charger stadium, fans talking smack to Peyton Manning and Manning decided to talk smack right back (yeah, and pigs can be flying in this dream too). He's telling fans "to come on down here then, bring it on"m "I'll be back" and "thank you". We would be hearing about how disgusted we were with the entire Colts franchise for weeks. Yet when Chargers do it everyone around here seems to turn the other cheek and completely enjoy it. What the hell is up with this? I mean, I would LOVE to see the Patriots winning streak come to an end before the Superbowl. However with the way the Chargers have been conducting themselves, I'm not sure if I want them proceeding to the Superbowl either. They're not a good representation of what team should ultimately be (well, I guess the Pats aren't either - *cough*cough* cheating*cough*). I think it's an embarrassment how they conduct themselves and I hate the fact they're not being called out (well, locally at least). I understand not to say anything before the season is over. They need all the support they can get before the season ends (next week) but once it is over I want this to be something I hear being discussed publicly. Also, I think TO is trying to change. He's just too much of a headcase to be able to make that transition I think.— January 14, 2008 10:11 a.m.

(exceeding character limit)... Both LT & Rivers were out of the game due to injuries. When Rivers left the game he went off field and back to the locker room areas to get checked out. While walking off field to do this Colts fans were talking loads of crap to him and in what I'm beginning to see is true Rivers fashion, he's talking smack right back. So he goes back there and comes back onto the field by the 4th quarter (3rd?). Well, the camera's get a shot of Rivers and LT standing next to each other. You see LT turn his head to Rivers and ask something, Rivers replies with something short and then LT gets a pissed off look on his face and quickly walks away. This is what they were talking about today on KGB. They were trying to figure out WHAT was said. Most people (callers) guessed that LT asked Rivers if he was out of the game and Rivers responded with "I'm out" (one caller claimed this is what it looked like his lips read) and so in frustration LT stormed off. Now, I think that's a valid guess. I don't think it shows LT is pissed at Rivers, I just think it shows LT is frustrated they have so many injuries in this game (including himself) and he wants to win. Imagine being just feet from the Superbowl. If you're a player (especially key player) you want to be in THIS game of all games. With that said, I have another guess as to what yesterdays storm off was about. I think that LT was pissed at the Colts fans for talking smack. We know LT doesn't enjoy the victory dances and the smack talking. I'm sure LT & Rivers were getting yelled at from the stands above as both of them stood there, injured and not playing. I think this could have pissed LT off enough to storm away angrily. After hearing fans screaming and being treated in such a .... manner.— January 14, 2008 10:11 a.m.

A couple things... One, I am one of the people who talked crap about the Marty/Norv trade. I'm not even a Charger fan but I had my opinions. Now, like most San Diegans, I now agree that the move to Turner was probably a good one and I was wrong (next year will be the test of how tight the good fit actually is). Regardless, I still think that Marty was a damn good coach. Now, onto number two. What the hell is up with Phillip Rivers? Why does this guy talk so much smack? I'm listening to the KGB morning show today. Like everyone else they've noticed and been talking about the "tensions" between LT & Rivers from time to time (when the cameras catch something). This gossip really started to launch a couple weeks ago in a game where Rivers was shown going to the bench and taking a seat next to LT. Just as Rivers sat down, LT shot right up and walked away quickly. That's all San Diego saw on the television, and man did it start the talking. We don't care about no Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo in San Diego. No, we care about LT & Rivers fighting (well, this is actually preferable over the other choice). LT was questioned after the game and he stated that he didn't even realize he got up when Rivers sat down. He said he was thinking of something and he saw someone come off the field (or something along the lines of) that he needed to talk to so he ran over to tell this player what he was thinking. Well, in yesterdays game against the Colts television viewers once again got a shot of what may be perceived as tension.— January 14, 2008 10:10 a.m.
Two Out Bottom of the 9th
I heard the morning show crew at KGB discussing the Phil/Spears story today. They said they are now hearing that Phil actually went to see Spears uninvited and it was an unwelcomed visit. Thus, the cancellation of his 1 hour program was not because "it was too intense" as Phil said, but because he didn't even have a story to go on. I was worried for Mike Wallace during that 60 Minutes interview. You could see the want to hurt beaming out of Roger Clemens eyes. Like a Pit-Bull (on steroids of course). If he would just come forward (hell, if ALL of them would do this) and admit they did something they thought to be okay, or "the norm" this would sort itself out a hell of a lot easier and faster. By the way, never compare Mike Wallace and Larry King. Larry King is like the lovable grandma who will bake you cookies and ramble on about something which isn't even real.
