Arnold & Maria's Son Hospitalized After Surfing Accident
John F. Kennedy got elected because his father bought the election.— July 25, 2011 10:30 p.m.
Dead, Tortured Dog Found in Ramona
Jeffrey Lurie is also a life long Democrat. He's donated probably hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Democratic party. He was a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton in the primaries and tranfered to Obama after he won the primary. For any poitical neophytes out there, PA is a very important state in any Presidential election. Eveyone is free to form their own opinion as to whether or not he would have made the call if Vick was just some dumb redneck instead of a gifted black athlete. But make no mistake about it, politics played a part. If Jeffrey Lurie is a Republican, the call does not get made.— July 25, 2011 5:56 p.m.
Arnold & Maria's Son Hospitalized After Surfing Accident
Actually, he's from San Francisco. His father was a news anchor; I remember him being up here in the early/mid 70's, on KABC I think, and if I remember correctly,he left KABC to go to KFMB. This may have been before your time, surfpuppy619, but he ran for mayor against Roger the Dodger in 1984. In fact, he came in second. I'm just guessing, but probably the only time young Tucker spent in SD was while he father was there. His own bio says he went to boarding school in R.I. and college in CT, so it reads like he probably was only in SD for maybe 5 yrs.— July 25, 2011 5:41 p.m.
Lafayette Hotel
I'm pretty certain that some Top Gun scenes were filmed there, too. But certainly not the piano scene.— July 24, 2011 11:55 a.m.

Come on, people. This picture has been so obviously been photoshopped, it's ridiculous. Granted the kid's not skin and bones like his mother, but come on. http://cdn04.okcdn.okmagazine.com/wp-content/uplo…— July 24, 2011 9:39 a.m.
Wall Street Thrives on Main Street Pain
If ur refering to Chubby Checker, it's just "The Twist". It was a cover of a song someone else did earlier, but it was always just "The Twist".— July 23, 2011 4:26 p.m.
SLICK RICK
Not just DECIATED, but deciated to becoming an MP on day. Now that truly is setting the bar high.— July 22, 2011 12:20 p.m.
Scripps Investments & Loans 17 percent return didn't last
Better yet, try driving through the Yuma inspection station, in either direction, with even hust a single seed in your ash tray and see what that gets you.— July 20, 2011 11:58 a.m.
Murdoch Gets Bad Advice from Aides, Says Local Publisher
I'm watching Murdoch answer question from members of Parliament and just witnessed the perfect example of the arrogance of people like Murdoch. One of the MP's reminded Murdoch that one of his oldest and most trusted employees, Les Hinton, had resigned basically saying he was captain of the ship and what happened did so on his watch and he felt he should resign because of it. She then asked Murdoch, since he was also the captain of the ship, had he considered resigning. His answer was classic. He said he was the captain of a much bigger ship, that they were the ones who let him down and that he wasn't going to pay for their mistakes, they were. How typical is that? I'm sure it won't happen, but I hope this guy is crucified. And as pitiful as security in Parliament apparently is and as serious as the consequences could have been, I think the shaving cream pie in the face was classic.— July 19, 2011 9:44 a.m.
What war economy would do for San Diego
We were in Texas recently. Armadillo seems to be a big thing there. I tried an armadillo burger that was quite good. I'm not sure where they got their meat, though.Road kill perhaps. There's a dead armadillo by the side of the road.— July 18, 2011 9 p.m.
