thanks SD... My daughter is 16 now.. and living back in Ohio. My oldest boy just started Kindergarten, and the little one is 1.5. The school that he is in is great, really involved parents - amazing teachers. Work is too crazy now for me to play hooky on Fridays, so I stay involved in different ways.— October 25, 2009 8:31 p.m.

No, he was an ass. Demanded organization from the kids, acted like a drill sargent, but was unorganized and forgetful himself. - Joe— October 25, 2009 7:49 p.m.

Bonus Blog: Second Grade Mom
When my daughter was in grades 3 - 5 I spent my Friday mornings in her classroom. 3rd grade was the best, Mrs. Van Ryzin was an amazing teacher. Fridays were art and science days - I helped with the projects that the kids worked on. I really enjoyed working with those kids. I'm lucky that my boss let me skate out, too. 4th grade wasn't as much fun, the teacher pretty much used me as a paper grading monkey... 5th was pretty good, but the kids were getting bigger, less willing to interact with adults. Mrs Richardson was another great teacher and was happy to let me help teach the kids a little math and English. I miss those days... but more like it are coming, my sons are getting bigger every day! - Joe— October 25, 2009 7:34 p.m.

What manners are missing in society?
I was talking about adults... If we are polite, the kids around us will follow that example. - Joe— October 25, 2009 10:19 a.m.

Josh, that was a really cool documentation of Robert's party. He sounds like a really interesting guy. 2 words though: steady cam. http://steadycam.org/ - Joe— October 24, 2009 10:27 a.m.
