Maple Canyon neighbors want parks. The city wants houses.
I have lived in the Spanish house on this property since 1994. Last February, I found out by accident that the City intended to sell the entire property. I have reached out to Todd Gloria's office about the various issues involved in the potential sale, but he has shown little concern. I have also spoken with the broker selected by READ who explained that the property will be marketed to a commercial developer so that more (over-priced) condos can be built. My concern at this point is that the City does not seem to be interested in taking the community's thoughts into consideration. If both houses have too much historical value to be demolished for a park, why is it okay for a developer to do the same? The City does indeed need to slow down and rethink the direction they are going in.— January 6, 2016 10:19 a.m.
