Big Tobacco Spends Big On Ads Against Tobacco Tax
The fact is this: The tobacco industry stands to lose $1 billion in sales per year in California after Prop 29 passes from thousands of kids who don't start and thousands of people who smoke who will smoke less or quit. We know this because this is exactly what has happened in other states after they have raised their tobacco tax. Hmmm. Who supports the NO campaign? Why the very businesses that place the poison in the hands of children. Every household in California currently sees an average of $621 in their tax dollars go to pay for the privilege of the tobacco industry to addict, sicken and kill their best customers and their families.— April 24, 2012 5:29 p.m.
