What was your first pet?
We had a tiny little black and white dog my father brought home one day. It never needed a leash thought we lived in the city. It would follow us everywhere never leaving our side. It even knew how to look both ways when crossing the street. It would sit on a stool next to my father at the local bars. Everyone loved it so much my father would sometimes sell it to someone in the bars he hung out in. My two sisters and I would cry and cry. A few days or a week or two later, our little dog would find its way home. Maybe a six months or even a year would pass and he would sell her again and the same thing would happen. I still think of her with love and that was more than 50 years ago.— April 17, 2009 12:05 p.m.
