Glitch Slap Lays Smack Down with Sugarpill and jOBOT
I was there when Mizz Hopper had her dehydration incident at BM. It was not pretty, and should be taken as a cautionary tale for water and alcohol consumption in the unforgiving dessert of Black Rock City. None are immune to it's devastating powers. But now that the story has become one of legend (only due in part to the fact that it has now been written about in the digital annals of the SDReader). One and all should come meet this legend of the dancefloor and dance a celebratory dance with her. One that embraces the magic of life, the love of family and the overwhelmingly contagious ass shakery of good 'ol BASS MUSIC! that is all ;) puppy— January 24, 2012 8:23 a.m.

Thank you so much for writing this piece that will surely bring even more notoriety to our already rapidly growing Dubstep movement here in San Diego. It gives a good glimpse into some of the things that have been happening down here the last couple years. I would however like to take this opportunity to clarify a couple things and also to give credit where it is due to a few people who were not mentioned. First off, Walker & Miguel are the main guys behind BrokenBeat. I have been involved in helping with booking and promotions for about a year and a half, but they (and countless others) have been working to build that club for years and years before I got involved and it was Walker who saw the changing musical tastes and decided to shift the focus of BrokenBeat towards Dubstep & Glitch Hop. I was fortunate to be asked to join the team... but I want to make it clear that I am not the only person involved nor am I the main component or founder the night. I would also like to give credit to all the many talented DJ's and producers in San Diego who have been helping to build the scene since the beginning that were not mentioned in this article, people like... Jason, Menace, ASC, Vaccine, Misk, P Man, Mezi, Breakah, 6Blocc, Disrupter, Havok, FSTZ, Kial, Tapir, Arkon,Eddie Turbo, Pure Boom Hi Fi, Bass Mechanic, Yona, Blackass, Prince Zohar, Skandar, Notch, Artistic, Orko Eloheim, Collagey, & Vagitron to name a few. I'm sure I've forgotten alot of people but I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge some of the awesome people that weren't mentioned in the article that have made Dubstep what it is in San Diego today. thanks, c ya on the dancefloor!
