Former Charger Pleads Guilty To Making False Loan Applications, Evading Taxes
From Wikipedia: "A troll is someone who intentionally posts controversial or contrary messages in an on-line discussion forum with the singular intention of baiting users into an argumentative response." How quaint. We have the very definition of a classic, old-school troll right here in our midst. It is rare to still see one in such a pristine state, showing a complete lack of the sophistication that has become evident in even the most neophyte of modern trolls. "more assholier than thou media vomit"? "you get points for having the worlds worst name"? That is so cute! I'm calling National Geographic, we need to document this!— December 15, 2007 8:50 a.m.
Former Charger Pleads Guilty To Making False Loan Applications, Evading Taxes
fumber, The decidedly pro-Chargers UT published a longer article that emphasized the Chargers even more. I can only assume you now think that the UT is "assholier" than the Reader? sdblogger, I didn't read any reference to Spanos or the stadium drive in either this blog or the UT story on this topic. Why insert an issue that isn't related, and then complain that it is not related?— December 14, 2007 3:12 p.m.
Environmental Groups File Suit Over City's Rose Canyon Move
Fumbler: The argument that the bridge is a good thing because a group you label "environmentalist" opposes it is patently ridiculous. That is exactly the same as saying all developers and all development are bad because of McMillan, Manchester, Moores, Feldman and a few others. What does your personal beef with "enviro-nazis" have to do with this bridge? How do you explain the city machinery pushing hard to spend big taxpayer bucks for an expensive bridge that will not improve safety and will not significantly improve traffic flow on Genessee, when those are the two specific justifications for the project? Why are you not outraged that we will spend our limited public money on a needless bridge rather than on the two badly needed fire stations in the area? Why is this an enviro-nazi issue to you, rather than a public corruption issue?— December 1, 2007 11:11 p.m.

Post # 8: Speaking of disingenuous, I watched video of a council session where Peters and Madafer indignantly chided citizens for arguing against the bridge, when it was so badly needed for "safety". Fire chief Jarmin, police chief Landsdowne and mayor Sanders earlier had personally addressed the council on this issue, telling the council it was badly needed for safety. They argued that it would reduce fire response time by 1.7 minutes. That was a lie. The real time savings was 30 seconds. In fact, in 2004 fire department officials said the bridge would have no impact on fire response times, and what they badly needed was a new fire station on Governor near Genessee. Why did Jarmin lie about response times? Why did Sanders make a rare appearance before the council on this issue? Why did he bring along Lansdowne? Like everything else in SD, follow the money. The biggest beneficiary of the bridge would be the shopping center at Regents and Governor, that currently gets very little through traffic and is not convenient for people in UTC. Connecting Regents to UTC would dramatically increase the value of that shopping center. According to blogofsandiego, the owner just happens to be the very well connected Evans family, which owns the Bahia Resort Hotel, the Catamaran Resort Hotel and the Lodge at Torrey Pines. Just a coincidence, I am sure. Heaven forbid that Bill Evans had Sanders, Peters and Madafers ears, and they were doing his bidding. That just doesn't happen in San Diego.— December 1, 2007 7:32 a.m.
Environmental Groups File Suit Over City's Rose Canyon Move
Post #8: Bridges and roads extending Camino Sante Fe and Camino Ruiz right through the middle of the Penasquitos Preserve have also been planned for decades. Just a few years ago those roads came up for approval. Most people thought it was a dead issue because the preserve had been established for so long, but the city was actually going to rubber stamp it if nobody showed up to protest. A plan from the 1950's showing a road through an area that was not a park at the time is not relevant. It is also not relevant whether it remained in the plan after the park was established. That could be an oversight. What is relevant are the current conditions and issues. It is now a park. The decision of whether or not the bridge should be built should necessarily be reexamined.— December 1, 2007 6:50 a.m.
McGrory, Inzunza Among Those Who Got Cut of $8.2 Million
Don, At Alcatraz it is not alligators, but sharks. Unfortunately many of our corrupt pols are lawyers, so the sharks may not eat them out of professional courtesy...— November 21, 2007 9:05 p.m.
Were Rancho Bernardo Residents Warned in Timely Way?
Don, I was also told that the reason the military aircraft required CalFire spotters is that the military aircraft do not have radios compatible with CalFire, and it is much to dangerous to have them flying with no communication to the other CalFire aircraft. That is another pretty obvious and serious deficiency that you would think would have been worked out by now. Letting more than one military aircraft fly with one spotter helped, but with proper radio communication they would not have needed a spotter at all. That is what I was told by a coordinator on the military side.— October 27, 2007 9:17 a.m.
Watch for Fire Hoopla at Chargers Game Sunday
Don, If it wasn't before, it will be now. The NFL can't pass up the publicity. I am sure we will also get the NFL saying it is a shame that San Diego doesn't have the "pride" to rebuild its evacuation center into a state of the art NFL stadium like New Orleans did after their disaster.— October 25, 2007 11:10 p.m.
Aguirre on Emergency Committee; Governor Sought Advice
Oops, the previous post should have been to post #14. Use a name, people!— October 25, 2007 5:43 p.m.
Aguirre on Emergency Committee; Governor Sought Advice
Post #15: If you actually read the article by Scott Lewis, he gives his opinion of what Aguirre said far more than he actually quotes Aguirre, and he interjects his own derogatory comments throughout the piece. There is nothing objective about it.— October 25, 2007 5:35 p.m.
