Roski Wants to Buy Bills or Jags Outright, or Parts of Other Teams Such as Chargers
By themaninthemirror Chargers 31 Cowboys 24 ========================== How do you already have a copy of next years schedule? What week is the game, and is it going to be in Arlington or LA? I know you aren't talking about the Super Bowl this year, because the Cowboys ain't gonna be there.— January 7, 2010 12:49 a.m.
Local Home Values Down 37.9% from Peak
SP said: "But I see you're not one who is into fixing the cities problems, doesn't surprise me! (ad nauseum)" ????? What gave you that impression? If it was up to me, I would have the city's budget problems solved tomorrow.— January 1, 2010 8:46 p.m.

SurfPup said: "Happy new year to everyone. Lets make this year the year we all get this cities problems fixed." I see you are embracing recycling for the new year, by reusing the resolution from last year ...... and unfortunately ....... from the year before that, and from the year before that, and from the year before that, ad nauseum.— January 1, 2010 6:57 p.m.
Fabiani pushes Chargers stadium at Tailgate Park
By refriedgringo: "PETCO will eventually be an asset rather than a liability." Really? When would that be? Will it be as much of an asset in the future as Qualcom is now? Stadiums are like new cars, and start to depreciate quickly until they become a liability. The Padres graciously "giving" us Petco after 30 years is a joke, because they would not want to own it at that point. Did you happen to see how much the Pontiac Silverdome in Detroit just sold for? $583,000. That is substantially less than a decent house in San Diego. In 30 years Petco will be a tear-down, not a civic asset.— December 26, 2009 9:59 p.m.
Taxpayer-Financed Stadiums Bring "Municipal Woes," says NY Times
Anon92107 said: "San Diego Mayors who perpetrated the Decline and Fall of America’s Finest City, creating Enron by the Sea" As Don has well-chronicled, it was a mayor operating in an incredibly corrupt San Diego that came up with the "Americas Finest City" moniker in the first place. There has been no recent decline and fall. San Diego was in the toilet in the 70's (when we got the "finest" name) and it is still there.— December 26, 2009 9:33 p.m.
Suppose Tiger DOES Play at Torrey Pines
SP said: "No, it is not plainly obvious, by the very fact that it is OPEN to wide speculation means it is not plainly obvious." Some got it. To them it was obvious. Others missed it. To them it was open to speculation, nay, open to "wide" speculation. Dude, you missed it. Others got it. Deal with it and move on.— December 21, 2009 12:47 p.m.
Suppose Tiger DOES Play at Torrey Pines
themaninthemirror, I disagree to a point. I believe that some degree of coverage and scrutiny is appropriate because the discussion is essentially about tiger woods the brand. When a brand has been built up to the tune of $100 million a year and the foundation the brand is based on gets rocked, that is big news for a number of reasons. In a way it is similar to all the coverage and hits to its image Nike got because of the sweatshop scandals. As for the titillation aspect, I'm not sure it differs from the news stories written about Dennis Kozlowski, Henry Nicholas, the Gores brothers, etc, whose personal peccadilloes have a huge impact on a major corporation (yes, the tiger woods brand is a major corporation).— December 21, 2009 10:51 a.m.
Suppose Tiger DOES Play at Torrey Pines
SP said: "No. It was open to speculation." It is still open to speculation. That doesn't change the fact that it was plainly obvious. They are not mutually exclusive. There are those who will speculate on virtually anything, no matter how conclusive the proof to the contrary. I know this from experience, having interacted here with you! ;)— December 21, 2009 9:24 a.m.
Suppose Tiger DOES Play at Torrey Pines
SP said: "Wow, so that is why Gloria Allred cancelled her press conference 12 hours ebfore it was supposed to go on, a big payday!" Wasn't that plainly obvious at the time?!?— December 21, 2009 1:11 a.m.
Suppose Tiger DOES Play at Torrey Pines
Response to #78 Don, I don't disagree. It is entirely possible that she had those latent tendencies. She may have been essentially doing the same thing to hookup with her fiance, but at an amateur level, and through circumstance was given the opportunity to really cultivate her talents at the professional level.— December 19, 2009 1:18 p.m.
