Alleged sexual assault at Lincoln High School leads to teacher's suicide
My heart goes out to Nathan's family, and although I didn't know him personally, I have family who worked very closely with him. Perhaps the most upsetting thing to come out of all of this is the fact that law enforcement, representatives, advocates, teachers, and administration for San Diego Unified School District, turned a blind eye to the legitimate and heartfelt concerns of another teacher. As a parent, I expect so much more---SO much more. As a teacher, Nathan deserved to have the support and MORAL guidance of the staff at Lincoln, as a fellow human advocating for other fellow humans, he should have had the support of his church. Heaven has definitely gained another angel, but let it not be in vain. Lincoln High School, and EVERY person involved who failed to do their part to protect their students should answer for what has happened. This is not something that should be forgotten about and swept under a rug somewhere. For a disabled student to have committed 11 PRIOR SEXUAL OFFENSES to be put into a classroom with children who cannot speak or defend themselves is abominable. Something needs to change. Guidelines need to change. People need to change.— April 3, 2018 2:24 p.m.
