Picket at Sweetwater trustee Cartmill's home
100% agreement. What I am asking for is the same as you in your last two sentences. HOW??? Short of that, it can't be left alone and forgotten. Lots of questions, but the most important may be if Cartmill has a heart!— January 19, 2014 10:07 p.m.
Picket at Sweetwater trustee Cartmill's home
To joepublic, helenfarias, anniej and all others who supported picketing in front of and around the neighborhood of Cartmill. A big thank you. To shirleyberan, there have been major picketing efforts at the SUHSD board meetings, to no avail. To visduh, oskidoll and all others who thought it was a bad idea, I want to ask what are some suggestions you have for this situation? You seem to agree that the what is happening in the SUHSD is out of control. What do you think would catch the attention of the people who have continually turned their backs on what matters to the students in their district? When the DA says it seems like the worst corruption case ever and attorneys in the know say it's a slam dunk against the district and NOTHING HAPPENS? Grass roots efforts are not always successful but if the suits can't do it and the desire to prevail is still there, what choice is there?— January 19, 2014 9 p.m.
Few details on Sweetwater district's student-data-sharing deal
Parallel universe. Duplicitous delta. DA. FBI. Sunken sub. NOPE. We have all been waiting for the explosion that rips the rotten core out of the corruption in the SUHSD, but nothing happens. A tiny rip. A minor burp. Parallel universe, indeed. Those of us in the trenches continue to hold the district together. I'm worn down. La Lucha is correct that many who once loved their jobs now hate going to work. Too sad.— December 29, 2013 9:02 p.m.
Sweetwater school district invites more suspicion
Shouldn't people who want to get involved with SUHSD care about students? All David Malcolm cares about is status.— December 22, 2013 10:10 p.m.
Sweetwater district spent big for Arne Duncan visit
ASB funds aren't supposed to be spent in the way the CPM principal used them. I'm not sure why all this has gone unnoticed and unchecked. SUHSD top leaders have finally stuck it to themselves. Unless it is true that they are Teflon.— December 3, 2013 9:53 p.m.
Teachers for Sweetwater district face insurance cost hike
Yes, the classified employees stand to lose the most in this. They are vital and yet they are paid little and respected even less. They fight tirelessly for respect in the way of pay and benefits. The district's proposal is a shocking blow to them. Thank you, Susan. Hope to see you Monday evening at the SUHSD Board Meeting. You are very much appreciated.— October 18, 2013 9:52 p.m.
Sweetwater school board questions funds for investigators
The culture of fear in the SUHSD has lasted too long. Thanks to all those who are not stopped by bully tactics.— September 24, 2013 9:47 p.m.
Chula Vista school hurries to get ready for Arne Duncan
Sounds like we need another big attendance board meeting. I can stay up till 3am dancing, so I guess I can do so for the sake of the students in the district. Is Jaime Mercado still willing to step in without pay for a year?— September 7, 2013 9:31 p.m.
Sweetwater trustee reports stolen property to police
I'm not optimistic about McCann learning a lesson. He's had plenty of opportunities to do so, but arrogance gets in the way of enlightenment. I do not want to give up on this district, but it is SO bad and aside from the usual suspects, no one seems to care.— June 19, 2013 10:21 p.m.
Sweetwater Union HS District Votes to Buy iPads for 7th-Graders
iPads ROCK!!! The SUHSD and most districts in California are facing never seen before budget problems. The schools already have textbooks. There are computer labs. In the times there's been money, students have fallen behind. Do you really think an electronic device is going to have that same student succeed? Technology RULES!!! But, it is only as good as the person motivated to use it (or misuse it, as there will certainly be students playing games during instructional time). I CAN wait for the future. I look forward to a slim iPad, rather than 25 pounds of books, into the hands of all students. For right now, it is a fiscally irresponsible expenditure.— March 1, 2012 9:10 p.m.
