In Standing Rock, the world is the bubble
The Army Corps of Engineers has not stopped the Dakota Access Pipeline. Energy Transfer Partners has made a public statement that they are continuing work there and there is currently work being done at the drill pad north of the Standing Rock Reservation, which is within 320 feet of Army Corps of Engineers managed lands. There is no wording in the Army Corps of Engineers statement that says that the pipeline is being stopped. USACE has said that they are denying the easement at this time. Here is the USACE statement in full: https://www.army.mil/e2/c/downloads/459011.pdf And the Energy Transfer Partners response: http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/201612040... This week ETP went to court to attempt to get a judge to overrule the USACE decision and this will most likely not be decided in this court case until February. The reports that the Army Corps of Engineers has stopped the pipeline started on December 4, 2016 in the media, and did not accurately reflect the actual statement of the USACE, included above.— December 10, 2016 10:21 p.m.
Splinters of Saint-Saëns at Mainly Mozart
There is one more Mainly Mozart rehearsal at the Balboa Theater on Saturday, June 18th, at 10:30 a.m. If you had been there on Friday, the day before this performance that you have reviewed, you would have had more insight into your chorale criticism.— June 16, 2016 3:23 p.m.
The invisible maestro at Mainly Mozart
The rehearsal on Friday had a conductor and it was one of the most amazing musical experiences I have ever witnessed.— June 12, 2016 12:43 p.m.
Musicians making movies
I was one of several editors who worked on this film about the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas in 2013. I edited many of the musical sequences in the film, which premiered at Sundance in January 2014. If you're more of a seeing it is believing it guy, you might consider watching the movie, which makes the same point. http://www.smithsonianchannel.com/shows/mystica...— April 29, 2015 6:20 p.m.
