La La Land
This critic, as with Jackie, misses the mark. For a real review of La La Land, read The New Yorkers excellent review by Richard Brody.— December 28, 2016 9:11 a.m.
Jackie
How else are we to read the last curtain shot? She spots a window, and trucks full of mannequins that ALL LOOK EXACTLY LIKE HER. She Looks and sees her FUTURE, where she is hounded for the rest of her life! You don’t see this? You think you are a critic??— December 19, 2016 11:37 p.m.
A Man Called Ove (En Man Som Heter Ove)
it is not a popular German novel, this is from Sweden. Duh.— November 27, 2016 11:39 p.m.
Interview with The Good Lie stars Arnold Oceng and Kuoth Wiel and screenwriter Margaret Nagle
Another thoughtful interview. Thank you.— October 15, 2014 10:23 p.m.
The greatest classical composer movie
Garrett, Are you a new movie reviewer at the Reader?— September 2, 2014 8:58 p.m.
Crime and circumstance
Another beautify review.— August 25, 2014 9:47 p.m.
Steve-O confesses to pranking jackass SeaWorld
While I agree with his views about Sea World and Shamu, it seems odd that you should write about this before reviewing films. There are many recent movies that have not been reviewed at all ( Chef ) or have been noted as " review may be forthcoming ". Isn't it your job to review movies? How hard is it to focus on movie reviews before commenting on something like this; which would only be relevant in another part of the paper? It must be a cushy situation you have for yourself over at the Reader, only reviewing a film every few days. Finally, Thelma would not be amused with the comparison.— August 25, 2014 7:07 a.m.
The Attorney (Byunhoin)
LOL Why do some movies never get reviewed by the Reader? Id be interested to read what you think of Chef.— August 20, 2014 8:08 p.m.
Robin Williams, RIP
Really nice tribute. I wondered why the film critics at the Reader didn't even mention him when he died. It seems even if neither you nor Mr. Marks cared for him one of you should have written something; he was important to so many. Thank you for this.— August 20, 2014 8:03 p.m.
Anything but a fluff-ball interview
Why no review of this movie?— August 2, 2014 12:44 a.m.
