All was not well in Lo Yen City
That dog in the trash looks just like a pig ready for roasting. Other animals, when beheaded and skinned may look the same.— April 9, 2015 10:44 a.m.
Bold Kid Kole
If anybody remembers Linda Vista in the 60's, Bill's Burger Stop had the best burgers in the neighborhood. Next door was the pink "art deco" LINDA movie theater and the indoor slot car track nearby, where you could bring your own racer. And Gilmores Hardware and Schwinn bike shop. Alas all gone.— June 2, 2012 2 p.m.
Dunkin' Donuts’ First California Shop Opens on Camp Pendleton
We used to have Dunkin Donut shops up here in Seattle, but they left. Growing up in San Diego, I remember Winchell's and Heavenly Donuts, but alas they are "mom and pop" bakerys like the one at Third and Moss in Chula Vista with the yellow triangle sign Winchell's used.— May 26, 2012 1:12 p.m.
Slab City, CA
Wasn't there a Slab City on the east shore of the Salton Sea near Niland?— May 26, 2012 1:05 p.m.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner Lands in San Diego
I helped build this bird. And the next 850+ on order.— March 14, 2012 8:09 a.m.
Pssst! Hot Dogs Actually Are Good Here
I remembered it being "Speedy-Mart" than "Speedy 7-Eleven" before becoming just 7-Eleven.— December 1, 2011 12:36 p.m.
Boom! You're back in 1980 totally as-is. What's the first thing you do?
In 1980 I was aboard the USS Nimitz at "Gonzo Station" watching the helicopters take off to fly into Iran to help rescue our hostages, silently wishing them Godspeed.— November 14, 2011 12:40 p.m.
The Accident: Part 2
The vena cava is the body's main vein (not artery) that returns blood to the heart. Good thing it wasn't his aorta. God bless him and a rapid recovery.— November 11, 2011 5:56 a.m.
Vanity Fair, Vanity Fair, All Is Vanity Fair
Chula Juana should be famous for having the most donut shops in San Diego County.— November 11, 2011 5:53 a.m.
Kearny Rallies in Fourth Quarter to Stun San Diego
Imagine the Kearny Komets verses the Granby High Comets of Norfolk, VA. Teams with a "K" know how to play.— October 22, 2011 2:38 p.m.
