The excuses for loud motorcycles
My neighborhood is badly impacted by these jerks with modified mufflers. We get their noise from the freeways as well the major streets that function as "freeway sewers". San Diego has this problem much worse than most cities because the SDPD and the CHP refuse to enforce the laws that bans these vehicles. Even stranger is that it is illegal to sell a vehicle that has these pipes but every motorcycle business in SD will sell and install them. These businesses are as illegal as store selling alcohol to minors. Yet no police action. I just wish the police would do the job we pay then to do.— September 27, 2017 4:54 p.m.
Waves too small at Silicon Beach?
Having just moved to San Diego following a successful career in the software industry, I am surprised the San Diego scored as highly as it did. The city is lacking most of the factors that I saw driving Silicon Valley’s success: enthusiasm for new ideas, investors willing to take significant risks, and a culture of collaboration AND competition. Instead, in San Diego, I see entrenched politicians who are more interested in protecting the interests of the establish wealthy class than supporting new ideas, potential investors who are only interested in property development and putting their names on public buildings, and a culture that values craft beers over space where creative young people can share ideas.. San Diego could be a leader in this space. I guess its just too easy to suck on the military teat. Most entrepreneurial young people will need to go else where.— January 28, 2016 8:28 a.m.
