Harold was born in Oklahoma. He began his working life in San Diego, made his was to Philadelphia, then New York and has lived in London since 1987.
In London he produced theatre for 20 years – from the smallest off-off productions to large scale West End musicals. He worked with a wide range of actors, including such luminaries as Jessica Lange, Clive Owen, Brendan Fraser, Celia Imrie, Vanessa Redgrave, Frances de la Tour, Steve Guttenberg, Paul Rudd, David Drake and Lypsinka.
He burst onto the cabaret and jazz scene in 2008, following a life-long dream to sing. In the last six years has devised as many shows (Flyin’ High – 2014; Full Circle – 2013; Shades of Blue – 2012; Thoughts ‘Round Midnight – 2010; Love Exposed – 2009; and The Secret of Life – 2008), playing to packed houses from London to LA. In 2013 he made his West End musical debut in the musical Café Society Swing, playing the role of real-life impresario, Barney Josephson. In 2014 he made his debut at London’s premier jazz venue, Ronnie Scott’s.
Harold has released two CDs – Shades of Blue – live at The Pheasantry (2013) and Taking Flight (2010).
He will be releasing his third CD in October 2015 - "live at the Crazy Coqs" which will include Dame Janet Suzman in her singing debut.
Harold is probably best known as the host of the über-popular Open Mic Night at London’s hottest new music room, The Crazy Coqs, which is now in its third year.
