Three Oceanside Assailants Sentenced in Beating of Elderly Woman

Diana Gonzalez Murder Case Prompts March on San Diego D.A.’s Office
On May 7, 2010 I held a Press Conference on the steps of the Courthouse announcing a legal action I took against my fellow judges who privately disdain laws designed to protect abuse victims. Judge Deddeh told me that misdemeanor cases in my courtroom (specifically Domestic Violence cases) only merited "chevy justice". He told me that my refusal to rubber stamp unlawful plea deals was taking limited court resources away from more important cases that deserved "cadillac justice". I refused to play politics with people's lives. Subsequently, within weeks I found myself facing daily scrutiny for almost 18 months. There is much more to be told to the public on this topic. As a sitting Judge I could not call out court staff or judges for corruption or incompetence without further retribution. A health scare in September prompted me to retire rather than fight a corrupt system. However, when 2011 rolls around, I look forward to using my behind the scenes knowledge to benefit the public, a group that is NOT being well served by Dumanis and her protection of the good ole boys who fund her political ambitions. I am so sorry to the family of this young lady. I plan to do everything I can from this point forward to bring this corruption to light and prevent future loss of life.— December 21, 2010 9:43 p.m.
