My tattoo was 22 years in the making ! The skeleton playing a drum was inked at 18 years old , an image based on tibetan mythology which can be found on an old grateful dead album cover ... for years I wanted to add more and finally in 2011 I added the lotus and clouds, a symbol based on the eternal nature of universal energy... and THEN this year Leo at Funhouse in Pacific Beach added the lower band and cloud work. I love my tattoo, it conveys meaning that is very personal to me, the imagery is strong yet fluid, and is freshly inked in this photo. My name is David, I grew up in Los Angeles where I met my partner of 20 years now who is an Encinitas native, we both moved to North County together in 2001.— December 11, 2013 11 a.m.
