Driver in Scripps Ranch collision files suit over the center median
The City of San Diego Traffic Division is too busy increasing the speed limit on residential streets in Scripps Ranch from 25mph to 35mph to address other dangerous road conditions. Maybe if the Traffic Division spent their time and tax dollars budgeted for traffic safety instead of concocting bogus traffic studies with illogical conclusions to force speed limits on Scripps Ranch residents in school zones and residential streets this particular accident may have had a different result. You'd almost think they get a "bonus" for every speed limit sign the Traffic Division gets to change out which only causes the overall speeds on our hilly streets to increase overall.— April 17, 2017 12:49 p.m.
City spent $29,689 for cars damaged due to potholes
Don't bother submitting a claim to Cal-Trans for freeway potholes. I hit a enormous pothole on 8 Eastbound at the transition to Rosecrans causing $1,000 + damage to my truck. Can't imagine the extent of damage if I had been driving a small vehicle or personal injury if I had been on a motorcycle. As a good citizen I immediately reported the location of the pothole online to Caltrans and then followed up with a claim for reimbursement for repairs. Result? Caltrans rejected the claim saying they hadn't had any prior reporting of the gaping freeway hole and therefore had no opportunity to repair it. Not that it didn't exist....how do I really know what prior notification Caltrans had. Sounds like a pat answer to not make good.— April 11, 2017 4:09 p.m.

Stone brews one with reclaimed water
"TDS"? or "TurDS"? Maybe the designation "IPA" should now be "I.P."! Give your least best friend a six pack of Full Circle Beer and then leave the party early.— March 24, 2017 7:25 a.m.
Clairemont seniors anticipate crosswalk upgrade
Somehow "Vision Zero" say a lot about the traffic division and how they do things. If that department wasn't so busy increasing residential speed limits beyond safe and sane 25mph they'd have a lot more tax money to spend on crosswalks of this type to increase crossing safety of all San Diegans, young and old alike.— March 6, 2017 10:44 a.m.
The crosswalk cover-up on Canon Street
In my neighborhood of Scripps Ranch the Traffic Division spends most of it's time attempting to increase residential speed limits from 25mph to 35mph. They are like a bad boil popping up on one residential street than another and are successful in increasing the speed limit unless the residents immediately impacted get wind of the effort in time to react. Scripps Ranch has many windy streets and hilly terrain which result in some "unnatural " measuring of average speeds. Where residential speed limits have been increased those serve to increase the average speeds as those vehicles then merge to areas of posted 25mph limits. This is not brain surgery to understand ONLY it seems by the Traffic Division. I have been a resident of Scripps Ranch for 30 years and it has been a constant battle. Only our past Council person now a State Legislator listened and responded to the Scripps Ranch neighborhood, our current City Council Person? Haven't any idea who that is but I invite he/she to be aware of this issue. I wonder how much important tax money could be saved by getting rid of useless self serving traffic studies to justify the expense of changing speed limit signs in areas like Scripps Ranch. Maybe the plan is to increase driver confusion thereby increasing speeding tickets? The last attempt by the Traffic Division was to increase the residential speed limit to 35mph in front on Jerabek Elementary School and Jerabek Park where children are present daily on a street where there is no stop sign to cross for over a mile from the Elementary School or Park. Again, not rocket science.— March 1, 2017 6:41 p.m.
The road to great flavors passes through Poway
After reading the review on Silk Road in Poway my spouse and I headed down the hill from Scripps Ranch to explore their menu and have dinner. Really good! Super pleasant owner. It is tucked away in a shopping center across the street from the Digiplex Theatre and Stater Brothers in Poway.— February 22, 2017 4:55 p.m.
