Back in the Spotlight
Re #38: "Mystic Yahoos? Mystic Yaks? Mystic Yaddayadda?" I like all 3 of those. I'll bet you could actually FIND all 3 in one location, too. http://www.bitrot.de/pictures/as_t_namtso_yak.jpg Sometimes I wish I could just project the picture in my head onto Google Images. Now THAT would be some Mystic Yaddayadda!— February 15, 2010 11:40 a.m.
My Funny Valentine
Found it. Kinda pricey, though. http://www.zazzle.com/the_internet_joke_shirt-235… :)— February 15, 2010 11:33 a.m.

SD kvetched about: "...an Englush that proves the world is as doomed as PistolPete would have it." Not the world, dear. Just Amerukuh. :) dionusos, SD is a university instructor. Her constant disappointment is the result of dealing with the products of our U.S. system of education -- grown adults who, in most cases, cannot even master the ONE language that they've grown up with, written and spoken all their lives. I think it's understandable.— February 15, 2010 11:16 a.m.
innocent until proven guilty
Thanks for bumping it, Pete. I'd missed most of it entirely. Same here. Have to read it later. nanners, you're a wild, poetic TRIP on a rollercoaster, yourself! :)— February 15, 2010 8:52 a.m.

People are different
WalMart is the Big Blue Borg. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_E352hZ78mJU/RuodoNhfjII… Try not to get assimilated. Random noon margarita-induced thought: How funny would THAT be? Like inside the WalBorg, there are all these PeopleOfWalMart folks that have been beamed up and assimilated. They're all in their little cocoon-cubicles, all tricked out in the usual biomechanical Borggery, but still wearing their goin'-to-WalMart duds. Like this guy: http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/?p=9470 And this one: http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/?p=9547 (on a Rascal, no less) And this one: http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/?p=9496 You get the idea. Pepper spray wouldn't stop them, either. They'd just huff it like paint, resulting in a Popeye/Spinach effect.— February 14, 2010 1:01 p.m.
By the Book
I'm wondering if the Passport Card... http://travel.state.gov/passport/ppt_card/ppt_car… ...that I just got will be enough now, or if I'll have to spring for a full passport next time. I'm going into TJ on Thursday (Feb. 18), so I'm good for this trip, at least.— February 14, 2010 12:41 p.m.

One of our Uncle PistolPete's favorite sites. I have to say, though, I LOVE the frontpage dude today. He's not scary at all! Crazy, perhaps, but not in a SCARY way. Mr. Valentine! http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/ (February 14, "Happy V-Day!") And I gotta say, scrolling down, I'm right there with the site author regarding mariachi bands. There better be some kickass comida and a cold margarita coming with that sh*t.— February 14, 2010 12:25 p.m.
Key Freak Caught
"I literally have the entire globe at my fingertips." As do we all. That's why I'm continually amazed at people who use the internet for nothing but bullsh*t. They'll sit and ask some stupid question on a message board, and I'm thinking, "YOU'RE ON THE FREAKING INTERNET RIGHT NOW, MORON! LOOK. IT. UP." Gaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!! I was thinking you had probably learned about the bump keys during your previous "education," however. :)— February 14, 2010 12:17 p.m.
My Brunch With Yoko
Wow. I just read Danielle's story. She's gorgeous, and clearly has no business being locked up. What a tragedy. I'm not generally one to rise to the defense of prisoners. After all, they're ALL "innocent," and "in the wrong place at the wrong time." But this is a case of a 15-year-old with a repeated history of severe sexual abuse (which is GUARANTEED to cause severe psychological ramifications) who a.) is off her meds, b.) committed no violent act whatsoever and c.) has since been diligent and tireless in her efforts to better herself by all means available to her. She's clearly no threat to anybody, never was in the first place, and could serve society much better by being on the outside. I hope we get a new governor who is amenable to reviewing her case. Of course, that would likely be Jerry Brown, whose record as Attorney General regarding Cali prisons apparently hasn't been all that encouraging. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/daniel-abrahamson/j… http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs/capitolalert… This guy might be a better bet, but most likely doesn't stand a chance in hell. http://www.afroarticles.com/article-dashboard/Art… Keep us posted, Jay. You've got a pool of other talented writers here and all around you who might be able to assist in some small way. Ask for help. Best of luck to both of you.— February 14, 2010 12:12 p.m.
