Those Were The Days
Jeremy Irons is definitely on my "hot" list, Sken. I assume you've seen "Damage?" God, it's great. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104237/ I like and feel an affinity with De Niro, but he doesn't make me all tingly. He'd be more like my dad.— October 31, 2009 8:57 p.m.
Those Were The Days
"AG, I swear you got good taste, Adam Ant, yum!!!" Yes, Cuddle, someday we must fight to the death over some pretty gay man who couldn't give a flying f**k about either one of us. I think it would be a hilariously ironic way to go.— October 31, 2009 8:45 p.m.
For Refried and all of our Latino friends both North and South of the border
Re #4: I thought refried did a very nice job with a concise piece about a vast subject. I was overwhelmed at the idea of attempting it myself. My ADD impairs my ability to narrow things down and focus. I'm not too good at being concise. Thanks for the kudos, though. :)— October 31, 2009 8:42 p.m.
Ghost Story
"Joseph Campbell did a lot of comparative studying on all of this, it's a shame in my opinion that he certainly came and went before the time in history where we really needed him." I absolutely agree. I think he was ahead of his time. At one time it was my intention to go to Pacifica Graduate Institute http://www.pacifica.edu/joseph_campbell_at_pacifi… for master's work, but it's never seemed practical or possible. Maybe someday. I've been feeling the pull back in that direction lately, but it's not feasible financially. That's where my real area of interest lies. This place http://ciis.edu/Academics/Graduate_Programs/Philo… would be my second choice. Glad to hear that Dia de los Muertos is maintaining its integrity as a legitimate holy-day, and hasn't succumbed to the plasticization process. And your departed Anglo relatives might enjoy a little trip across the border, refried. I'm pretty sure they could make it okay without passports. ;)— October 31, 2009 8:37 p.m.
Ghost Story
SD queried: AG, do you have a copy of Graves's "The White Goddess?" Ya know what? I started to type that I did, and I realize that I don't have it. I have Frazer's "The Golden Bough." But yes, I'm familiar with it, from long ago.— October 31, 2009 8:27 p.m.
