Online Dating and Psychos.
There are plenty of people online that are dishonest and not who they portray themselves to be, so caution is always best. But while meeting someone the old-fashion way seems more real, I think that the age of online dating is not ALL bad. Terribly shy people, for example, might feel more open online and not have any barriers that go up like when meeting someone in a bar or nightclub. Some people can be more real online and not hold back with their true feelings or how they truly want to express themselves. People also are more blunt and to the point without thinking so much about hurting other's feelings which actually is a good thing. There are some good, honest people on the internets. I have friends that met on the internet and are happily married, and I hear about it happening more and more. I do think, though, that if someone uses the internet as their only way to communicate and meet people, they need to step away because it's not healthy.— December 8, 2008 6:50 p.m.
The Cats Meow
First I have to say I love animals, all animals. I do enjoy and eat some meat though, lean beef, chicken, turkey, so I suppose some can say that's hypocritical but I don't see it that way. I appreciate the meat an animal provides us. Food is a necessity whereas killing animals for fur, for example, is a luxory and just stupid in my own personal opinion. But I do realize that shooting or harming others' pets was not the point of this blog topic. The point was a home owner has the right to not want animals in their yard. I do agree with that. A neighbor can tell another to keep their cat away, but it's hard for that owner to not permit it from going certain places. The cat won't listen haha! The best idea is for the home owner to sprinkle black pepper in their own yard. Cats stay away from black pepper and it does not harm them in any way. They just will eventually associate a certain area with that black pepper and avoid it in the future. I am a cat owner but she's an indoor cat. She was raised that way since a kitten and that's what she's used to. I bought her through a pet store so I suppose it was easier. Some kittens born outside without homes are a different story. Some people take these cats in as pets and for them to not allow the cat to wonder the outdoors would be cruel so I can't see all cat owners having indoor cats. It just doesn't always work for that particular cat. I sometimes see my cat looking out the window and wonder if she feels she's missing out! But she won't go near an open door. She prefers to stay inside so for my cat, it's fine. For other wild cats, the outdoors in what they know. So if anyone wants cats away from their yard, try the black pepper. Telling someone to keep their cat away is going to be hard to do. You can't really blame the cat owner because a cat has a mind of it's own.— December 7, 2008 4:57 p.m.
