Papa Doug buys Rhode Island estate
How long will it be before he changes the name to the Manchester Fairholme?— July 28, 2015 11:02 a.m.
Fat arena subsidy good news for Qualcomm chief
HISTORIC Qualcomm Stadium? Please.— July 27, 2015 3:01 p.m.
Faulconer's political guru out as stadium lobbyist
Delaware North already has the concessions at Petco Park. I hope the concessions at the Q will be better than under Centerplate, but based on what I see regularly at Petco, I have my doubts. And if the Chargers Carson "plan" is already so far along (as Fabiani keeps trying to convince us of), I wonder who the concessionaire will be at the new Carson Stadium? I'm sure Fabiani already has one picked out.— July 24, 2015 9:02 p.m.
Ales Spanos – beneficiary of public largesse
Don: The other piece of evidence on that is if you look in the far endzone, it says "San Diego".— July 23, 2015 7:57 a.m.
Ales Spanos – beneficiary of public largesse
Just one thing--the artist rendering above is of the proposed (by CSAG) new Chargers stadium in San Diego, not the one proposed for Carson.— July 22, 2015 10:15 p.m.
Mayor's $1.6 million drought PR plan is back
Why can't the city just put messages on the programmable freeway message signs? I doubt that would cost much at all--let alone $1.6 million.— June 30, 2015 3:49 p.m.
Padres' good young blood gone
Curious as to what those "outside observers" were saying in the offseason while the Padres were making all of their trades. Hindsight is indeed 20/20.— June 26, 2015 11:08 a.m.
Swiss secrecy bolsters soccer corruption
According to the Regional Water Quality Control Board, the cleanup of the soil contamination at the Q site is one of the most successful they have seen. I believe the groundwater is still tainted however.— June 24, 2015 2:52 p.m.
Swiss secrecy bolsters soccer corruption
Don: Then we are back to the argument of why you would ever have a domed stadium in San Diego. Everyone always talks about the great weather in San Diego, so of course someone wants to build a "multi-purpose" stadium (and aren't they all really "multi-purpose"?) in San Diego with a roof. That would be lunacy.— June 24, 2015 2:48 p.m.
Do secret Jacobs subsidies presage Chargers deal?
Didn't the new Sacramento Arena get a state legislative pass on CEQA requirements? (Something that could also happen here for a new Chargers stadium)— June 23, 2015 2:07 p.m.
