All is not lost, Chargers fan
KroenkeWorld isn't supposed to be ready before 2019. Also, I believe USC is in favor of 2 teams playing there temporarily, but I believe it's up to the Coliseum Commission. I also think they are in favor, but someone else raised a stink about the commission trying to rush approval without going through proper procedure.— January 29, 2016 6:16 p.m.
All is not lost, Chargers fan
I hope they do announce a deal with Kroenke, and I hope they play here next season. I eagerly await the fan reactions to the San Diego Lame-ducks.— January 29, 2016 11:03 a.m.
How about the San Antonio Chargers?
Don: I used Wikipedia. Buddy Young was on that '52 Texans team. Also, according to Wikipedia, those Dallas Texans were the last NFL team to fold.— January 24, 2016 11:30 a.m.
How about the San Antonio Chargers?
Don: You might be thinking of the original Dallas Texans in 1952.— January 24, 2016 8:06 a.m.
You bought her a new stadium
Oh I'm sure the Chargers have some fans up there--just not enough to warrant moving the franchise to LA.— January 21, 2016 7:42 a.m.
An option: Chargers stay, Qualcomm gets facelift
Don: I agree.— January 16, 2016 10:02 p.m.
An option: Chargers stay, Qualcomm gets facelift
Don: Agree with you, but the Chargers would argue the current stadium has not been maintained properly. Then again, nothing has been stopping the Chargers from contributing to the maintenance of the facility they call home. I'm sure the city would accept all the help the Chargers would have wanted to give them in that regard. Of course, we know how much the Chargers have contributed to that. By the way, just so you know who you are responding to, I am posting under my real name (David Crossley) above in the Facebook comments.— January 16, 2016 2:35 p.m.
An option: Chargers stay, Qualcomm gets facelift
Don: Again, it was intended to add seats and boxes to make it more advantageous for the Chargers (larger crowds) and the NFL (Super Bowls). Nothing changed in relation to the field itself. The field is the same to this day. It is still just as easy to play baseball there as the day it was built.— January 16, 2016 2:28 p.m.
An option: Chargers stay, Qualcomm gets facelift
Don--On that we can agree.— January 16, 2016 11:30 a.m.
An option: Chargers stay, Qualcomm gets facelift
Don--And that's my point. They could continue there as the facility could still host baseball as well as football--exactly as designed. In spite of the fact that seats were added to what was originally the open end--to completely enclose the bowl--nothing else changed.— January 15, 2016 9:33 p.m.
