The crosswalk cover-up on Canon Street
I've posted this before. Some years ago in Allied Gardens, a student was killed while crossing Waring Rd--one of the main roads through Allied Gardens, which is also a short block from Lewis Middle School. The intersection had been dangerous for years before that, but it took a student getting killed before the city remedied the problem by putting a traffic light at the intersection. As usual, the city was reactive rather than proactive.— March 1, 2017 10:58 p.m.
Diamondbacks haul out league commissioner scam
Don: And even if they do win the lawsuit--where would they go? More importantly, who would build them a new stadium? If it's in Maricopa County, it would have to be a dome, and even though it would probably be smaller than where they play now, it ain't going to be cheap. Nor do I see the D-Backs shelling out very much money for it.— February 23, 2017 4:41 p.m.

Upgrading scoreboards? The place is 19 years old, and they have already updated their scoreboards once. And thankfully, they do have A/C, but they can't even outdraw the Padres. Let the D-Backs move someplace else in Maricopa County and see who will build them a new stadium.— February 23, 2017 3:52 p.m.
Street repair must wait until wire undergrounding?
Originally, my neighborhood was supposed to be done in 2036 (or 2038--I forget which). Now, it won't be until after 2050. That would make me about 96 when they finish. Assuming they don't push it back some more.— February 16, 2017 3:16 p.m.
Union-Tribune lays off journalists
I don't have any issues with you. I do have issues with Canepa. Besides--some people just age better than others.— February 15, 2017 5:06 p.m.

Don: True--we do not always agree. But always enjoy the debate.— February 15, 2017 1:29 p.m.
Union-Tribune lays off journalists
The sports section is "large and vulnerable"? That's hilarious, as it is nowhere near as good as it once was. They should just get rid of Canepa, as that fossil is just plain useless.— February 14, 2017 10:10 p.m.
MTS responds to Baja Rail charges
"Significant progress..." Yep, that progress is just staggering.— February 3, 2017 4:28 p.m.
Downsize the NFL?
Two things about this article. While the Chargers finished (just barely) above the Raiders in attendance per game, the more telling stat was percentage of available seats sold, which the Chargers were dead last. Also, TV blackouts are a thing of the past in the NFL.— February 1, 2017 11:03 a.m.
More pressure on Mickey Kasparian
