wow. just found this blog. My father and his friend developed the campground from virgin territory in the early 70's and we lived in the double-wides they had brought in on the mesa up back after all the junk cars were removed. They swore the land was haunted due to the numerous unexplained mishaps, water line breaks, etc. that occurred. Love the line about rattlesnakes. As I recall, the land was infested with Western Diamondback rattlers and scorpions. Our Dads killed quite a few up close either w/shovels or chains off the backhoe.
