One hat picture, none of Caitlyn
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but you should get understand the game a tad more before you try and tear it apart. It is the Trainer who (almost entirely) is in charge of the employees, not the owners. And regarding your last statement. I have not met anyone who has left a Chargers or Padres game with more money in their pocket than they started with. Horse Racing is a form of entertainment for most, not a way to make a living.— July 28, 2015 8:57 a.m.
A pro-handicapper’s guide to betting at Del Mar
Del Mar made a great choice in having Frank Scatoni conduct these seminars. However, I do have a small problem with the way this was written. For example; *Additionally, a few minutes after the previous race, the track’s big electronic tote board starts posting the actual odds, known as “first flash” — prewagered money. **(Race tickets can be purchased weeks in advance.**)** I believe the writer is referring to buying a voucher, not making an actual bet on that race. An then he says ***"The first flash “early money” is based on the actual amount of money wagered, not the handicappers prerace predictions."******* *"Handicappers prerace predictions"* should read morning line. The morning linemaker is only "predicting" what the horse's final odds will be after betting. You may wish to call him a handicapper, but he is not trying to predict the outcome of the race. Just a little clarification. Good Luck.— July 28, 2015 8:37 a.m.
