La Jolla 5th Most Expensive Home Market in Nation
I woudl think that the top east coast areas would pass all the so cal areas except RSF. I lived in MI and Detroit is in pretty bad fiscal shape. And in terrible unemployment shape. Highest UE in the nation.— September 22, 2010 11:36 a.m.
San Diego’s home-price recovery isn’t what it seems
I see much "darker" times ahead for everyone not in the top 20% income bracket and I'm tempted to make that the top 10% income bracket... ===================== You are on target. The dark times are here, and it is not looking up for anyone except for the top 1/10th of the top 1%. They had an interview in the LA Times yesterday with a 55 year old machinest (skilled manual labor in a profession that should have many job openings) who had been out of work for 2 years-when this meltdown started. He thinks (actually is scared to death) there is a good chance he will never work again. Even though this guy was skilled manual labor, he was making a modest $500/week, or $25K per year. If our country cannot support skilled manual labor paying a modest $25K per year then the country is doomed, and I mean DOOMED. We just won't survive. (and this is especially true when GOV EMPLOYEES in semi skilled manual labor jobs, like cop and FF, are comping 8 times that $25K)— September 21, 2010 7:40 p.m.
San Diego’s home-price recovery isn’t what it seems
However, I will say this: key contributors to the economy, such as consumers, are deleveraging, or getting rid of their debts. This is good in the long run but bad in the short run. ==================== Do you call 2014 the short run?? Because that is the earliest we will pull out of this mess........ay least that is my guesstimate.— September 21, 2010 4:45 p.m.
San Diego’s home-price recovery isn’t what it seems
POTUS is nothing more than a mouthpiece that successfully disguises that process. ================ Although I do agree with refriedon 90% of hsi post-I do not think the POTUS is a mouthpiece.......but special interest does run the country-and is ruining it with their greed.— September 21, 2010 4:42 p.m.
As CalPERS Sank, Its Executives Raked in Bucks
No, they ARE trying to do that scam, and the ONLY thing that will stop it-if it has not already been approved-is if the taxpayers publicly revolt.....— September 21, 2010 4:40 p.m.
SEC Seeks Contempt Order Against Vassallo
They need to throw this bum in the big house for 20 years-that will cure his scamming.— September 21, 2010 4:39 p.m.
As CalPERS Sank, Its Executives Raked in Bucks
Nothing new. These clowsn should be tarred and featehred and run out of town on pitch forks. Question-is it our city or county pension system that has that yahoo who is getting $800K per year, and has hired his own staff under "contract" at super inflated pay also....??— September 21, 2010 12:18 p.m.
El Centro Hospital Charged with Medicare Fraud
A giant out of control gov program that has been ripped off on a regular basis going back decades-big surprise there.— September 21, 2010 7:56 a.m.
Dodd-Frank Gives SEC Exemption from Providing Documents
Nothign is as bad as bailign out the wallstreet crooks that causedthis meltdown. The crooks should have been charged criminally AND civilly, to use them as flaming sighn posts as to what happenes when you cause this much damage to our country. Instead they rewarded the crooks with bailouts— September 20, 2010 8:18 a.m.
Dodd-Frank Gives SEC Exemption from Providing Documents
All attempts at regulating the market have not stopped the problems you list, nor will they. ============ No, I thinkr egulation- least restricitve but enough to keep markets honest-work.— September 19, 2010 9:32 p.m.
