Did Platinum Pay $30 Million for U-T, or $52 Million?
Is Copley http://www.flickr.com/photos/jordi757/4452551648/ leasing the jet or does he own it outright??? That is a BIG private jet, I would estimate the cost @ $3K per hour of use.— September 23, 2010 10:58 p.m.
Did Platinum Pay $30 Million for U-T, or $52 Million?
He just doesn't have the resources he once had, having sold his main asset, the U-T, for roughly 5% of what it was worth 5 years ago. ====================== He reminds me of Michael Jackson, tons of money, but still not enough to fund his hi flying lifestyle. MJ was a millionaire-living a billionaire lifestyle. Copley is the same, and Copley was NEVER a billionaire.— September 23, 2010 10:54 p.m.
Escondido: Do Your Homework on the Portland Beavers
I won't go to a major leage baseball game anymore-just not worth the cost/investment to me. Now mior league is a whole new ball game. And as someone else pointed out-it is 100 times funner, more family oriented and truly what a sport is about. Lived across the STreet from the minor legaue Lansing Lugnuts and Oldsmobile Park was such a cool place to go...... loved it! http://www.ballparkreviews.com/lansing/lansing.ht… http://www.ballparkreviews.com/lansing/lansing.htm— September 23, 2010 1:18 p.m.
Escondido: Do Your Homework on the Portland Beavers
Once before it tried something like this, the now infamous California Center for the Arts, Escondido, which has disappointed for more than fifteen years. Do these rubes ever learn? ==================== Do you really want the answer to that-using OTHER PEOPLES MONEY to build YOUR white elephants!!!! Please. You already know the answer.— September 23, 2010 1:11 p.m.
La Jolla 5th Most Expensive Home Market in Nation
Detroit and Cleveland are moribund economically. Even speculators are cautious about getting in, even with prices so low. This is true of smaller Michigan and Ohio cities, too ========== That si sad. This is going to be the first generation whose children will have a LOWER standard of living than their parents......— September 22, 2010 4:46 p.m.
Lincoln Acres family cited for illegal house
Who needs to hear from people? State Senators? The Governor? Who? How high up do we need to aim to get somebody's attention to save what to politicians look like ants, ie, regular people? Lazier that housecats, politicians and government workers. "OH, we can't do ANYthing about it..." Get off your butt and do some good for a change, already. By x76 11 ====================== Twice in the past I have had gov problems where I TRIED to enlist the help of high gov officials. One was with this City, and Mayor Maureen O Connor was in charge, the second was with the federal gov and Senator Feinstein was contacted. BOTH were USELESS. I would ram my head into a brick wall before trying to get help again from those clowns, you would get less brain damage from the brick wall.— September 22, 2010 11:48 a.m.
San Diego's Best Sunrises, Sunsets, and Moonrises from Shelter Island's Shoreline Path
I love Shelter Island, and it IS my favorite/#1 spot in San Diego. Thanks for the pics and background on it.— September 22, 2010 11:42 a.m.
Did Platinum Pay $30 Million for U-T, or $52 Million?
In the interview, Gores refers to "the relatively short horizon of a private equity owner, typically five years." That, roughly, is Platinum's normal holding period. =============== In a normal market maybe 5 years is typically the hold, but not this one, in fact it may be 10 years before they can dump the UT for ANY $$$$$$, and during that time they face all kinds of potential employer liability.— September 22, 2010 11:39 a.m.
