Fox Blasts Prop. 24, Doesn't Reveal Big Donation to Defeat It
Yes, the movie Casablanca had some great lines. One, as you point out, was "I'm shocked, shocked!" Another was "round up all the usual suspects." Another: "Play it again, Sam." (I'm not sure that's how the line went.) I only saw Casablanca once -- on TV, about 45 years after it came out. ============== One of the best movies of all-time. And yes there are tons of great lines that come out o fit.......I particularly like the one at the end when Rick tells Captain Renault "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship".... BTW, that scene was filmed at the Van Nuys Airport, and the Hangar they film it at was just torn down a couple of years ago......................It is on Turner Classic Moview fairly often and I wathc it every time it comes on, must have seen it 100+ times. I also watch the original 1977 "Star Wars" film when EVER it is shown on TV, I would bet I have seen it at least 500+ times.— November 2, 2010 7:39 p.m.
South Park's Granny Flats — City Says Yea, Some Citizens Say Nay
It is my first time to post on The Reader. I am not a Phoblogger. No one paid me to write my comments or to promote spin to disrupt a blog discussion. I wrote to express an opinion that was different from the ones I read. =========== I LIKE you!— November 2, 2010 5:25 p.m.

Craigslist allowing these services has destroyed our relationship. I wish they could understand that pulling the Adult Services Section was a great victory for victims of human trafficking etc., but I wish they would pull the personals section as well - although I understand there are many other ways to find hook ups. By LonelyGirl ==================== CL did not destroy your relationship, your BF did. And you allowed it by not dumping him. He had/has no commitment to you, he is bi, he is not into you as much as he is into making himself happy, and he has lied repeatedly. Me personally, I see no upside in that relationship, even if the person had the best personality on the planet. The question I would ask you or anyone else is why are you letting someone walk all over you like a doormat???? You should have tossed him out like trash, let some other person get their chain jerked (no pun intended). Me, I get plenty of brain damage from my own stupid mistakes in life, I DON'T need it from anyone else. Plenty of wonderful people in the world, too many to get jerked around. Maybe you're caught up in $$ or Brad Pitt looks, dunno, but you have your priorities all wrong.— November 1, 2010 2:44 p.m.

Recently, I saw a T.V. show about the wife of a fireman who may be deprived of his benefits because she was born a boy, married her husband as a man, and gay marriage isn't recognized in that state. But later, she had an operation and is now a woman. I think she deserves his benefits. ============= Yes, I saw that too! I agree with you 100%. I also think that if the SCOTUS is able to get the Prop 8 case and rules Prop 8 invalid then that will never be a problem again, anywhere in the USA-no matter what the XX/XY biology dictates. As it stands today, that couple would be treated as a couple in CA and any other state that sits under the 9th Circuits jurisdiction.— November 1, 2010 2:34 p.m.

Have you ever met a transgender woman, surfpup? no offense but I think it is ignorant to say that they are men. =========== Yes, I have, and no, it was not meant to be offinsive at all. From a biological POV a man has different chromosomes than a women, XX vs XY. That does not, and will, not ever change. . . . Your quotation marks around transgendered lends me to believe you think they are just gay men who wear dresses, but that is simply untrue. =============================== Well, yes, I did think that, and if I am wrong then I hope I did not offend anyone.— November 1, 2010 2:30 p.m.
Global Warming Is Crap!
Don't worry folks, even if prop 23 passes there is a safe haven right here in San Diego County. My 18 year-old nephew, an amateur meteorologist, has been monitoring and logging hourly temperatures on his electronic weather station at his home in La Mesa for the last 6 years. He has analyzed and graphed his data and can find NO upward trend in temperature. ============== I cannot tell if you're making a funny or not, but if you DO have a nephew who is doing this, that is pretty cool IMO!— November 1, 2010 2:25 p.m.

Fox Blasts Prop. 24, Doesn't Reveal Big Donation to Defeat It
I will be honest, the judges that allowed this nonsense, the conservative wing of the SCOTUS in the Citizens United case, are the ones to blame, not Fox News. Don't get me wrong, Fox News is no innocent angel either, but there are MANY deep pockets from both political parties doing this. Those SCOTUS justices opened to floor gates to BIG special interest groups with pockets a million times deeper than the average Americian citizen. ONE special interest with deep pockets can now drown out MILLIONS of voices of average citizens. And that makes the process unfair and unjust.— November 1, 2010 2:17 p.m.
