Please post a link to that comment. I dont buy it. I knwo what the grades were when I was there. They also could have raised the curve. If 5% were F's, 5% D's 60-65% C's, 20% B's and 5% A's then that is a 2.4 overall GPA, that is what the curve was when I was at SDSU, and my numbers were not off.— January 13, 2011 7:55 p.m.

It seems perfectly reasonable that a lawyer who wanted to be a deputy DA in Marin would intern first to gain specific skills and demonstrate ability to perform and work within that department. By paul ======================== But that was NOT the case-not at all(You're right, if it had a chance to lead to a job it would be a good investment). The job listing specifically said it would NOT lead to a paying job, that the unpaid position was of 6 months duration and if you could not complete the full 6 months they did not want you. I was trying to find the posting for it, if I find it I will link it. As I recall (since this was on an attorney board) the employment attorneys were all over it and said it was illegal, cannot recall the reason.— January 13, 2011 7:51 p.m.
North Park Main Street’s Plans for 2011
PB has a high crime rate because of 1) the transient population, and 2) it is very dense.— January 13, 2011 3:53 p.m.
North Park Main Street’s Plans for 2011
City Heights used to have the highest homicide rate in the city, probably the county too, but I am not sure about overall violent crime. I like North Park, University Heights and City Heights- lived in all three areas at one time or another-heck I have lived in just about every neighborhood in this city.— January 13, 2011 3:51 p.m.
La Scala Closes
La Scala has been there forever-but I have never eaten there. Just about everywhere else in that area, but not there. The Red Sails Inn has been around for 70 or 80 years, though not in the same location as it is currently. Good place. I still think the Bali Hai is the best restaurant in San Diego overall based on price, view/location, food and service.— January 13, 2011 3:49 p.m.
Brown's Redevelopment Proposal, If Passed, Could Whack Corporate Welfare
Don, they sure do have 100% bullet proof job security-tenure-teachers are not canned once they have tenure. We are in the worst depression in 80 years and no school district has canned any teachers. It is virtually inmpossible to can them after they have tenure. I also question why you think a job that has a salary of $40K starting, $80K+ at the top of the pay scale, and another $40K in benefits is not good enough. They only work 37 weeks per year. $120K comp and only working 37 weeks per year, with no fear of being laid off or canned, is about as good as it gets. Seriously, why do you think $60K average in salary is not enough for a part time job? What do you feel is fair for a 37 week per year job (putting aside the value of tenure which to me is worth at least another $25K per year on it's own)?— January 13, 2011 3:45 p.m.

Nope, the entire class got A's, not just me. NO ONE got straight A's at San Diego State, they had a very strict grading curve-where 75% of the grades were C or below, 20% B's and 5% A's.— January 13, 2011 12:38 p.m.
Brown's Redevelopment Proposal, If Passed, Could Whack Corporate Welfare
Brown seems to be betting that the voters would rather help out school teachers than subsidize big businesses, fattening their profits. =============== School teachers do not need any "helping out", they are already comping serious money for a part time job, have 100% bullet proof job security. TYhey should have their pay and benefits frozen for 5-10 years IMO.— January 13, 2011 11:31 a.m.
Not So Sharpie
Turned out he wasn’t even a gang member. He was a wannabe gang member with a paper route. === That is pretty funny!— January 13, 2011 11:29 a.m.
