Bad Cops Get Caught -- But Not All of Them Do
One problem with the SDPD could very well found in the fact that the officers are some of the lowest paid in the country -- often, an SDPD officer will seek employment in another city offering better pay. With low wages, the SDPD is not going to get the best, morally sound individuals applying for jobs; ================== Total BS. There are tons of good, ethical and qualified applicants applying to SDPD, and every other GED PD job in this state. Quality applicants are intentionally screened out at the bogus 5 minute "oral interview". These jobs are not hired on merit or qualififcations, that is why they have the 100% subjective "oral interview" instead of objective merit based written testing they had decades ago. They don't hire the best and never have. The PD jobs go out to a select few who fall into very specific catagories-like the idiot mentioned in this article from the Marines. 1-Family 2- Friends 3- Military (HUGE,50%-90% of all hires) 4- Lawsuit coinsent decrees for doing 1 and 2 above. If you don't fall into one of those 4 your catagories your chances of getting hired are about 1,000 to 1. So stop the spin that a GED clown at SDPD comping $150K-$200K per year BEFORE any OT is added on is NOT getting paid enough.— May 12, 2011 1:49 p.m.
Grim Housing News. San Diego No Exception. Double Dip?
Twister, real estate is not going to go up anytime soon, not for 3-5 years IMO. It may or may not go down-I personally think it will contunue to drop due to the unemployment problems, but who knows. But it is not going to go up.— May 11, 2011 10:17 a.m.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver decide to terminate marriage?
I don't think I am outside the mainstream in going to town on ClownHair over the Nunez gift.— May 11, 2011 10:15 a.m.
UCSD's Higher Surf to Beget Higher Tuition?
Here is what we should do: 18 percent cut in UCOP salaries and $50 million cut. 18 percent is cut in campus chancellors', vice chancellors' salaries. 10 percent cut in faculty salaries, as well as increase the research and teaching load. ======================== Great post, this above part was exceptional. I have advocated the same approach applied through out San Diego City gov to cure our pension mess. Cut salaries, progressively, and take the portion cut and send it straight to the pension fund. So say a cop of ff is earning $100K per year, cut it 25%-to $75K-then take that $25K cut and deposit it directly into the pension fund. It would cure the pension deficit while at the same time LOWERING the overall pesnion liabilities by freezing highest years wages.— May 10, 2011 10:04 p.m.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver decide to terminate marriage?
After Arnold commuted Nunez'z sentence form 16 years down to 7 I actually dispise the clown, I would never vote for him-ever- I would not even shake the clowns hand. He is a punk. What he did the last hour in office has tarnished ANY goodwill he had left ending his term.— May 10, 2011 9:58 p.m.

The Hit Man I Can't Forget
the first time I saw RS was the Cow Palace in SF in 81-the Tonight I'm Yours tour, was in the very BACK of the arena, when Maggie Mae started I grabbed the two girls I was with and ran for the front stage-and so did everyone else. I made it to the very front- it was Rod, security wall, then me and my girls, dead center-could not be any closer........amazing show and a highlight of my life as far as live shows go-nothing can compare.— May 9, 2011 8:24 p.m.
The Hit Man I Can't Forget

The Hit Man I Can't Forget
I have seen Rod Stewart numerous times in concert, and can state without hesitation he is one of the BEST live performers I have ever seen, and I would always hit his shows when they came to town. Last time I saw RS was at the Sports Arena in 88 or 89, and I remember it clearly because he got sick the date of the original show and we had to go back for a second date a few days later-and he got sick AGAIN!!!! So we had to back a third time, and he showed and rocked the Sports Arena. RS also had a live show that was taped at the Sports Arena in the early 80's that was shown all the time on MTV and cable TV. Have not seen that live show in a while though.— May 8, 2011 8:48 p.m.
