U-T Wouldn't Print Issa Piece, Draws Criticism
I actually had to deal with Waxman's office on an issue I had a few years back, his staff was very polite, professional and helpful to me. I can say I have had much worse experiences with other elected officials-especially those in the state judiciary who seem to have a superiority complex and think because they are elected judges they can make or break any rule they wish.— August 24, 2011 4:51 p.m.

Dirty Laundry: Sexual Assault Exposed
It's about us--not just as mothers or fathers but as a society as a whole-- raising our boys to be men who damn well KNOW BETTER--who would take their own lives before abusing women or children. ================ You sure seem to lump all men into one big catch-all category.— August 24, 2011 4:45 p.m.

Overheard at Disney: "Hey guys, remember when we were cool?"
The Pixar Story is awesome, have seen it on YTV a number of times now. Disney really blew it by firing Lasseter because they didn't get the Little Toaster cartoon. What most people do not knwo is that Pixar was a FAVORITE of the Mike and Spike Animation Festival that toured So Cal back in the late 1980's and early 1990's, loved to go see this every summer, usually at the La Jolla Museum of Contempary Art. The a few years later-BAM, Toy Story set pixar on fire and they never looked back. . http://spikeandmike.com/sitepages/festival.php . The one who DID torpedo the Pixar and Disney relationship was Eisner-who tried to squeeze Pixar out of their profits. Shows what a dumb clown Eisner was. Pixar picked up their bags and left Disney after that. After Eisner got canned Bob Igler fixed the problems and brought Pixar into the Disney fold, which was the smartest move Disney ever made.— August 23, 2011 11:35 a.m.
Tighter Times Ahead for California's Colleges
It's the prison guards salary & pensions! ====== Yes, of course it is. They have no become a "donor" class, where they shower a million or two on elected officials and receive a billion or two BACK in higher compensation. Donor classes have to be put into check.— August 23, 2011 11:21 a.m.
Tighter Times Ahead for California's Colleges
I think this passage sums up my thought sin the original posts; "California used to spend about six times as much on higher education as on corrections, and now it spends roughly the same amount for both. In short, I don’t know how you can read this chart and come away with any other explanation than that we’re gutting our universities to pay for prisons. And that trend is continuing." . http://zunguzungu.wordpress.com/2011/07/14/where-… .— August 23, 2011 9:55 a.m.
