Is that a skunk in your pocket?
Such a great story, as per usual. Your smile is so infectious. I too am fascinated with skunks.. I always wanted one for a pet. When growing up in Los Angeles, our neighborhood was popular for skunks. The neighbor would trap them, then call the ASPCA to come get them. I remember one night after my Father had had just about enough of me and sent me to sleep outside, (guess it was bad, I don't remember what I had done now) I felt my cat climb on to my chest and start to lick my face in my sleep. As I was stroking her I started to wake up. I realized the cat was in the house. I slowly opened my eyes to a pointed snout with a white stripe nuzzling my face. OMG. Quietly I stopped stroking my new friend an it turned and did a' Pepe le Pew' HOP,HOP,HOP, off of me and wandered back to his friends who were patrolling the night yard for snails and bugs. There must have been a dozen of them, all ages and sizes. I figured the I should move somewhere a little less populated like the patio. But, this was an experience I will never forget! So glad you got to snuggle with such a cutie!!— July 29, 2015 4:11 p.m.
