Online community helps police in bike theft bust
Nothing Star Wars but old fashion common sense --- neighbor taking ownership to report a "Prowler" while on his early morning run - someone out of place and acting bazaar in neighborhood [THANK YOU "Conrad"]. The "Bike Thief's" -- which we long referred to them because they are thief's always on bikes -- are habitual petty criminals -- not only stilling bikes but many other crimes from home, garage, storage, and car break-ins. Both (yes 2 each people arrested yeasturday) are known in the community by the old-timers - since they both grew-up in neighborhoods. The older slender Hispanic male in his late 20s [extensive criminal record], is very personable often waving -- asking if you have work while he scopes your property for valuables --- many locals know him on sight; he often come-and-go from the community since he was a pre-teen, said to be staying with Grandparents around Golden Hill when not in jail or Mexico with other relatives. Whenever he's back, the neighbors pass the word expecting a crime-wave to soon follow. The Black male in his very early 20's is also a known local -- old-timer recognize him from pre & teen antics and association with Golden Villa's (long time problem area). The last old-timers knew of him he was serving a very long time at Juvenile Hall -- again, a very personable kid... Apparently these two have joined forces to rob us... Realize when released -- they both are habitual offenders since children and will eventually return to neighborhood -- if you see them let neighbors know and call the police. Sadly this seems to be their career choice. We can also exspect such crime to grow since California has dumb-down the terms of career criminals and jail periods the last few years.— August 6, 2015 7 a.m.
