Vallejo's Bankruptcy Exit Plan Would Squeeze Creditors
So Don, all I hear from public workers is that Bankruptcy can't touch pensions already received by retirees. Now technically, the health care drop is not their pension, but if they can reduce health care, why not pensions?— January 20, 2011 1:44 p.m.
If Anschutz Buys 35% of Chargers, Say Bye-Bye
WHenever I hear these rumors, it scares the sh&t out of me. No, not because the Chargers may leave... It's because I can't help wondering what back room deal is going on for a new SD stadium that will then be "leaked" so they can say, give us this, or we'll be moving ...— December 1, 2010 1:07 p.m.
Proposition D Thumbed Down Overwhelmingly
Last THursday (pre-vote), I was traveling home from work on I15 southbound. On the Miramar Way overpass, above Northbound I15, was a parked firetruck, with 3 firemen in uniform, waving a big flag that said "Yes on D". Aren't there rules prohibiting city emploiyed personnel from politicking? THis seems like it should be against the law, if it isn't already. Unfortunately, I had to get home right away, or I would have stopped and taken pictures and names of those involved. Anyone know if they're allowed to do this? Since I did NOT see them on Friday, or Monday, I was wondering if someone had complained about this and their supervisors put a stop to it— November 4, 2010 1:25 p.m.
