Chargers' Fabiani Admits in Article That San Diego Is Bankrupt or Heading in That Direction
Response to #10 - Best advice I ever read about dealing with Mark FABRICATOR came from Richard Rider who said something like if Mark comes toward you and tells you what a great deal he has for y0u - secure your wallet in your pocket, turn around and run away as fast as you can. until now, as Don points out regarding Fabricator's statement About Cities and bankruptcy, the guy has never uttered a truthful syllable of series thereof, at least not knowingly - but then when you work for the Spanos Cartel that's a job requirement. The GREAT NFL - loaded with enough money to build every team a new stadium continues to push teams to fleece Cities to do so all the while putting up a net to catch post-touchdown kicked extra-point footballs from being acquired by fans who sit in the no-view endzones from taking home anything free. What an awful bunch of greedy slugs the NFL owners are. I don't personally care one way or the other whether the Chargers stay or go but I will fight against any public funds being used to support another unneeded sports stadium just to allow team and league owners to get the extra $$$$$$ that luxury box sales will demand. Sports league and owners greed has already made attending baseball games a luxury most families can't afford and the NFL is on its way to making football an event one watches on TV if at all. City of Industry to Vote Jan. 20 on $500 Million Infrastructure Bond that Would Serve Planned New Stadium
Response to JohnnyV on Post#23 There ain't enough boats/planes to fit all of us on a one-way but I guess the Spanos Cartel would gladly find a way to get rid of us Best...— January 1, 2009 1:10 p.m.
City of Industry to Vote Jan. 20 on $500 Million Infrastructure Bond that Would Serve Planned New Stadium

City of Industry to Vote Jan. 20 on $500 Million Infrastructure Bond that Would Serve Planned New Stadium
Don: Today's UT announced the opening of the new San Diego Se Hotel as Follows: The owners of Sé San Diego are opening a $500-a-night luxury hotel – which claims the West Coast's biggest penthouse at $20,000 per night. The owners of Sé San Diego are opening a $500-a-night luxury hotel – which claims the West Coast's biggest penthouse at $20,000 per night – in an economy more amenable to Motel 6 .... xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx In light of the "urgency" of keeping the Chargers from even thinking of leaving San Diego, Council President Ben Hueso demanded the Council meet immediately at the new Se hotel to discuss how to best give the Spanos Cartel a new stadium using taxpayer $$$$ AND provide President Ben with a comfortable space to complete his car mileage report. PRESIDENT BEN said: " We'll show them - No Motel 6 Environment on this City Council"..... Best— December 27, 2008 11:47 a.m.
Lead Indicators of San Diego Economy Continue Steady Decline
But Don: Don't you realize, all this is NOT affecting the City's finances - at least not its spending - notice the UT (on behalf of Fat David) is now pimping the "free" but unneeded New Downtown Library> They tell us it won't cost SanDiegans anything - why it largely being paid for with "State" funds and CCDC funds - and now a wonderful MISUSE of City School Bond funds -as if these aren't our taxpayer dollars - and no mention of the ongoing costs associated with the infrastructure and running of the "Signature structure" which will most certainly be utilized by the "homeless" (aka Bums") for shelter from the cold in the winter and air-conditioned comfort in the summer. Our xxxxing City is BROKE the economy is - even Bush now admits - is in a recession with no end in sight and Mayor Jerry continues to push the Copley agenda overcommitting scarce or non-existant City revenue on yet another useless costly project. Wall Street's Goldman Sachs, Which Got $10 Billion Government Handout, Paid Only 1% in Taxes
Hey Don: This the same SEC that spawned the Arther Leavitt that our city was so fortunate to get to help us get our financial books in order> And, oh hey, didn't he do a GREAT job! Best— December 17, 2008 1:11 p.m.
Federal Reserve Essentially Admits It Is Fighting Depression, Not Simply Recession. It Lowers Interest Rate Target to Lowest Level Ever
Right again JohnnyV - and in the meantime the guy who got hit with the shoe is going to preserve his legacy using the remainiing giveaway $$$$$$ in the TARP fiasco to "loan" it unconditionally to the incompetent auto makers and their Union bosses - gut then, remember "our economy is fundamentally sound!— December 16, 2008 4:57 p.m.
Goldsmith Continues Cheap Shots on City Website. He Criticizes Predecessor for Politicizing Office, Then Politicizes It Even More
Response to Don on #13: Slight disagreement re Casey Gwinn: while it's true only morons like OJ and I guess Jesse Jr. would hire Gwinn for anything, AND he undoubtedly was in fact legally "overmatched" in the stadium fiasco giveaway negotiations, my belief is that he did exactly what Mayor Susan and city manager Jack and the rest of the Republican cartel directed him to do - do whatever was The best for Moores and the sports/builders/business interests - City's best financial interests played no part in the "negotiations". Guess we were lucky Gwinn wasn't arround to expedite the public financing of a new stadium for the Spanos Cartel - but hey, we've got Judge Jan now to roll that one over us taxpayer fools. Moody's Says Singleton's MediaNews Almost as Sick as Tribune, Headed for Default
Don: Thanks for the focus, hope you will post something about the outrageous Moody's sanctioning of the failure of this City to even begin to address its huge pension obligations in an honest and open manner. Now, with Moody's seeming sanction, the "Ins" are beaming publically at how well they're really running the city when in fact we're closer to BK than the public realizes. Thanks! Moody's Says Singleton's MediaNews Almost as Sick as Tribune, Headed for Default
Don : Is this the same Moody's that just upgraded the nearly bankrupt City of Sandiego's credit rating? If so what credebility does it have in any financial forum? Best— December 12, 2008 5:16 p.m.
