“Best friend” murderer gets 80-years-to-Life
Or could it be that the justice system is structured and the proper personnel process "justice" in accordance with the dictates of the law and administrative norms? Oh, no the simple, and very incorrect answer is the political one. Yeah, that's it: use my own empty, ignorant thoughts to discern what goes on in society rather than the facts. "Just make it up" and follow your leader off the cliff.— November 4, 2018 9:39 a.m.
Adams Ave. park re-born
San Diego can't have anything nice due to the huge homeless and mentally ill populations. The trolley is nothing more than a mobile insane asylum and every park is a gathering spot for the next batch of homeless. San Diego: "Home to the homeless, overpriced housing, and endless piles of dog excrement." Stay classy San Diego and Mayor, you're doing one hell of a job...as in you're making San Diego a hell.— October 22, 2018 9:42 a.m.
Adams Ave. park re-born
Grass and large yards make for a park which makes for a safe and fun environment for children. dwbat, you're a bummer— October 22, 2018 9:40 a.m.
A San Diego version of MeToo
This dude has been a sexual predator his whole life. Let's stop being stupid and wonder "where does this behavior come from?" Either somebody taught him (learned behavior or emulation of somebody else's behavior) or his neural network is wired to be such a creature, or both. Most likely he didn't wake up one day and say, "going to start that life of sexual aggression and assaults today."— October 16, 2018 5:51 p.m.
A San Diego version of MeToo
Wonder if it was "white privilege" that allowed Winslow to think he'd get away with it. No, it was "wealth and fame privilege." Shame, who's the stupid b%*#h now?— October 16, 2018 5:46 p.m.
SDSU backer kicks in against rent control
I realize you're being sarcastic. Rent control has a cultural and community value to it as well which is (definitely in the long term) much more beneficial than developers' dollars. Giving housing opportunities to more people sends gives a sense of ownership, of being a stakeholder in your community thus building bonds, opening lines of communication, and appreciation of race, ethnicity, class, experiences. If you have neighborhoods that are comprised of varying peoples then people have a broader picture of life. But no, San Diego lacks "community" already and will continue to be dominated by financial and military elites. Good bye San Diego.— October 16, 2018 10:47 a.m.
Main Attraction leaving downtown Oceanside
So, the strippers will not be living in the new housing or stripping in the old building? How about a strippers only retirement community in Oceanside. This way Oceanside gets revenue from the strippers for rent, food, etc. as they live out the latter years of their life. In the meantime, the strippers can keep working outside of Oceanside.— October 10, 2018 11:10 a.m.
Gas tax repeal, Koch Bros as pretenders, Golden Age of Debt
NO ON 6. Taxes such as this are why California has social services, better education that the majority of the nation, and a high quality of living. You right wing nuts always equate no taxes with a better life-that's not how it works. Taxes are OUR money that pays for OUR government services. Let trump cheat on his taxes for a total of over $400 million and rule with stupidity but no gas tax to pay for needed services.— October 7, 2018 9:29 a.m.
Cabrillo Comes to Ballast Point
Okay, this time get it right. These guys are not here to be friends. Cortez, Balboa, Cabrillo, Armstrong. All of them are explorers in the name of oppression.— September 26, 2018 9:17 a.m.
Ocean Beach
He's been dating that bird for seven weeks and the relationship hasn't gone anywhere. This is it-one last serenade to secure love...or embrace loneliness. If the bird flies away, it was never meant to be.— September 26, 2018 9:15 a.m.
