Wow! So much scorn for the earnest karaoke-rs. Guess you guys wouldn't like karaoke in my family, then. We take it as serious fun, and all are welcome, perfect pitch or no. And what's wrong with showing off your pipes?— May 5, 2009 11:50 p.m.

But because I still love you and Whitman, antigeekess, here's Walt on Campbell: "Lo, I or you, Or woman, man, or state, known or unknown, We seeming solid wealth, strength, beauty build, But really build eidolons."— May 5, 2009 9:59 p.m.

I'll check out the links, antigeekess, and you are right to call me out, though not for assuming he was a "himbo;" more for assuming you were only interested in one thing about him :) NOT that there is anything wrong with that, either. However...blech. He quotes Campbell? Big deal! I went through a Campbell exploration phase at 19, and found he was a bit repetitious, a bit shortsighted about mythical structure in his eagerness to tie 'em up all into one big story form with the "hero's journey" crap, and... an anti-Semite to boot. I could "accept" that about a lot of thinkers, if there is good thinking to be had otherwise...like Paul de Man...but Campbell's encouragement of all of the "New Age" go beat on your chest and bang a drum in the woods, men, 'cause gosh darn it, you are men! crap...Like L. Ron Hubbard, he sure invited a lot of trash pulp in his wake... Josh, I'll have to google that Dafoe. Perhaps he was in an overrated film, but that says nothing to me about his talents on stage or screen.— May 5, 2009 9:50 p.m.
Searching for San Diego's Sea Turtles and a Job
Ok, then, so maybe the title should be: "Made a Couple of Hasty Inquiries about Sea Turtles so I Could Attempt to Cast Mystery Over my Lackluster Dating and Working Lives."— May 5, 2009 12:37 p.m.

Oops, I meant, the official state flower for CA?— May 4, 2009 11:59 p.m.

My point was, they all seem to be doing it. Providing email and building content with "twitter" in a running banner you have to tape off on the bottom of your screen. I'd definitely email "Mary" Levin to see who answers. :)— May 4, 2009 11:50 p.m.
Water Survey Says...
Hey Spliff, you are so welcome. You are one of the funnest people around here. Now, if we could cultivate pure bong water, we'd be onto something there. Until then, you'll probably want to stick to Schnapps.— May 4, 2009 11:46 p.m.

Electric Cigarettes, Cyrus, Homeless, Chinese...Something offensive for everyone!
Patches can give you nightmares. Like mainlining nicotine. Ha! I love that. They 'just kind of' get up and leave. We should run after them. EXCUSE ME...EXCUSE ME...— May 4, 2009 11:23 p.m.
