Thousands to Faulconer: sanctuary city now
Of course tourists would rather come to a sanctuary city. Because a sanctuary city has restaurants. The restaurant industry is going to suffer without immigrants. Prices are going to go through the roof. restaurants will close. Agriculture is going to suffer too. There will not be enough workers. food will be expensive and in short supply. House cleaning services will be more expensive. The tech industry says we need to attract the best and the brightest from around the world. Most jobs being filled by immigrants are not jobs that would otherwise go to citizens. Just like our grandparents people come here for the promise of a better life. They have citizen children here. It's cruel to break families up. If San Diego uses it's police force to help ICE it can no longer effectively police Hispanic communities because the trust has been broken. That is what we are trying to tell Faulkner.— February 19, 2017 11:06 p.m.
