Rubio's Roe boat floats Faulconer
“Democrats need hate, for lack of a better word, to get the base to turn out,” asserted Roe. “Kevin is not a hateful guy. Even if you’re a Democrat, you don’t hate the guy.” It's more than you can't really hate someone you realize is not very bright. In contrast to his predecessor (whose damage is still being publicly processed), he is a charming little placeholder. Not to worry, the democrats may scare easily but they will return... and in greater numbers.— February 18, 2016 8:44 a.m.
Jack in the Box stock plummets
Shareholders are quick to punish companies who fall even slightly short of their quarterly estimates as volatility grips the equities markets. McDonald's has been asleep at the wheel for long time. They should have taken a hint about serving breakfast past 10:30 a.m by watching Michael Douglas in the 1993 movie, Falling Down. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2016/f…— February 18, 2016 8:36 a.m.
Why half of San Diego’s bees are gone
"California produces one-third of the nation’s vegetables and two-thirds of the fruits and nuts." Well, a lot of people are not going to argue with that.— February 17, 2016 9:27 a.m.
Not suggesting you steer clear of these lawyers, but...
So I take it these bad dogs are not on Obama's shortlist for Supreme Court Justice appointments?— February 15, 2016 9:35 p.m.
What part of "Do Not Call" is confusing?
When I get those calls, I try to find out if they have a fax number. Then I use WinFax to send from 300 to 500 faxes that say the same thing. Do not call xxx-xxx-xxxx again. If they don't run out of paper, they turn the machine off. It's usually down for a day while WinFax retries the number. They never call back after that.— February 15, 2016 2:17 p.m.
Local lawyers speak on Scalia's death
The death certificate for Scalia will list myocardial infarction — a heart attack — as the official cause of death, Presidio County Judge Guevara told WFAA-TV on Sunday.— February 14, 2016 8:47 p.m.
Local lawyers speak on Scalia's death
I like it the way it is. It is the best attempt to keep it from becoming more political. Judges with life tenures can make unpopular decisions. Their wisdom should be rewarded, not discarded. These folks usually didn't climb to their posts with politics. We should not encourage them to establish a political mindset.— February 14, 2016 8:29 p.m.
You sure you don’t want a beer with that?
Portobello fries sound interesting. Thank you for your reviews.— February 14, 2016 7:26 p.m.
Local lawyers speak on Scalia's death
That's your Alma Mater. I didn't know the Onion was established there. On the subject of Scalia. He was a masterful wordsmith and consistent in the development of his opinions. He was a polarizing figure. I was not in agreement with his views. Nonetheless, he should be recognized for his long service and dedication to his calling. RIP— February 14, 2016 7:21 p.m.
Former diner to become beauty mall
The concept is not new. Sola Salon Studios has been doing this for over 20 years. They have a few locations in San Diego. My friend remarked that these space rates are high.— February 14, 2016 5:48 p.m.
