Journey to ground zero: Hiroshima, Japan
Spoke with a 92yr old Marine last week, who appears to have seared into his soul the vision of Hiroshima. His division was sent there just after the war ended to survey the area. The agony of that sight still appears in his expression as he mentioned the experience.— June 4, 2015 2:41 p.m.
La Mesa Goes Downtown
Great read Naomi. Any observations on what it will take for La Mesa's Village to find it's long lost heart & soul? I attended a redevelopment workshop last week to ponder this question. Unfortunately, the consultant hired by the city was more into conducting a survey on hardscape questions. Not a single question surfaced on business or social factors, and the Village Merchants seem to be in need of divine guidance on refinding their soul.— April 29, 2009 7:32 p.m.
La Mesa's Magical Oasis...
Lisa - Dito the appreciation conveyed by Ben's mama...great to read about our fair city...the jewel of the hills. We are blessed, and some recognize these gifts come with a responsibility to remain good stewards.— April 9, 2009 5:08 p.m.
