Filippi's — Clairemont
Atmosphere was fine - I really like the arched ceiling with brick. It was clean, service was good - pleasant. We ordered antipasto salad, garlic bread and pizza. The salad and bread was very good, I ate the garlic bread, wife had plain bread with butter - she liked it, I liked the garlic bread. Thick salami in the salad - good basic oil/vinegar dressing - not overly done. The pizza had good flavor - the crust was burnt on the bottom. After I cut a slice off the pan, liquid started pooling in the pan - it caused the crush to be soggy. That was disappointing - it would have been a perfect meal if the crust wasn't burnt and didn't get soggy - not sure what the liquid was from - we ordered mushroom with sausage - the mushrooms? Did the poor a jar of mushrooms onto the pizza? Was there that much fat in the sausage? I don't know.— March 28, 2010 9:38 a.m.
