Marine says ranger roughed him up
That's because the government understands the Goldilocks theory. It knows just how much it needs to give people to keep them satisfied, fat, dumb, and unmotivated. No need to rock the boat with protesting, folks better off just waiting for the next benefit payment to come along.— November 10, 2014 11:33 a.m.
Marine says ranger roughed him up
All of those behaviors are a reflection of, first, the times we live in where crooks have more firepower than the cops. And, secondly, top down leadership or should I say the lack of it.— November 10, 2014 8:30 a.m.
Marine says ranger roughed him up
First off sounds like the "ranger" needs a job with less interaction with the public. Sounds like he'd do a better job cleaning up animal fecal dropping than parking mitigation. Secondly, while Esquibel has complained, his attorney, no doubt working for a juicy contingency fee, filed the complaint. If this case ever sees the inside of a courtroom, I suspect a limp will be pronounced, choreographed by his counsel.....oops my cynical side let that last comment slip out.— November 10, 2014 8:25 a.m.
Eye-eye-eye
One would think in this day and age the well educated/informed would not participate in such behaviors, alas this isn't the case IF the allegations prove true. But what's more disturbing is the allegation of profit by management. If that allegation is proven beyond a reasonable doubt, treble damages AND termination for those who participated is warranted.— October 31, 2014 10:47 a.m.
U-T San Diego circulation drops
Anon92107 that's nonsense...absolute utter nonsense. And it has nothing to do with the circulation numbers of Manchester's U~T either.— October 25, 2014 4:08 p.m.
U-T San Diego circulation drops
Whether the reporting of the news has been tilted in one direction or another has been debated from the time of Franklin, if not earlier. There's no doubt in my mind today's verison of "journalism" is demonstrably slanted by those who profess repeatedly and loudly to be impartial. This bias in news reporting is one of the factors causing the demise of print media as few regard what they publish to be factual news free of opinion. The UT under the current ownership is little more than one big OP/Ed ..with a football cheer section and that's why there is a ever dwindling number of subscribers.— October 25, 2014 8:49 a.m.
Gated-community scuffle
I also suspect John's attorney walked away with a substantial share of the award. One-third of the 550k is nothing the sneeze about.— October 24, 2014 11:32 a.m.
Gated-community scuffle
I don't think the award was high enough! This doctor's behavior was outrageous and bordered on terrorism over something as insignificant as entry into a gated community. There is something VERY WRONG with his thought processes, and her, the doctor's wife sense of entitlement. Fortunately in this case, the trial court as well as the appellate justices send a strong and clear message with this award. Sadly for those who use Farmers for their insurance coverage they will be subsidizing these two. Too bad the doc didn't get any time in the slammer or at a minimum some anger management counseling, he's bound to abuse others in the future.— October 24, 2014 11:11 a.m.
Hands off the vodka
Ahh...but isn't "happiness" found in the eye of the beholder. There have been many times I've consummed a cold soda or beer and found myself happy / satisfied on one level or another.— September 28, 2014 10:08 a.m.
Hands off the vodka
If the process of manufacturing descibed is correct I have a lot of problems with this very deceptive label. 1. The word "Handmade" its style and font size are designed to draw the consumer's eye to it when compares to the size and style of other text on the label. 2. The tag line "Crafted in an Old Fashioned Pot Still" is false if trucks, large vats and automated distilling are used. Once again the style of "Sentence Case" brings emphasis to the phrase. Yet nothing old fashion seems to be true of the processes used to produce this product. 3. The graphic art work showing a "still" with a drop of liquid falling into a barrel. Truckloads of product from drops of old fashion stills? If a picture is worth a thousand words, then as Ricky told Lucy; they have some splain to do. 4. America's "original" micro distillery? Huh? George Washington was a distiller of spirts a long time before these guys were in business. While George may not have distilled vodka, he certainly oversaw a handmade process of producing fine spirits. Seems to me the Del Mar Law Group has a legitimate and reasonable complaint for the Courts to decide.— September 28, 2014 8:01 a.m.
