David Letterman Controversy
Oh, one more thing. I'm dying, just dying to know, if McCain knew she had a pregnant daughter at the time. He said he knew that. But I seriously doubt he did.— June 14, 2009 1:23 a.m.
David Letterman Controversy
Well, I debated my friend for three days about whether Palin sunk him or not. I claim it did. But my friend brings up good points. When she got on board, they had a huge spike. And, had McCain named anybody else, that spike isn't there. I still content, though...once we got to see that she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, I think it became worse than had she not been on the ticket. And, the idea of grabbing these women voters...well, more women just felt like the move was probably condescending.— June 14, 2009 1:22 a.m.
Usher in a New Baby
Usher is the squinty fellow, who does R&B songs. I once asked him (since he did a song with Snoop Dog), if he really smokes that much pot. He confirmed that he did. In this little topic, I didn't want to include Chastity Bono having the sex change and become Chaz. I keep hearing her name will be Chaz, but not whether she'll keep the Bono part. I mean, if you're changing your first name, might as well change your last name from Bono to Boner. Or, Palmenteri. (see...I may be lazy, but I'll end up giving ya the goods at some point later in the day)— June 14, 2009 1:19 a.m.
None
MsG...I feel like you're cheating on me. Asking another man for tips on throwing a party. And, I've been to a few Tiki parties, too!— June 14, 2009 1:15 a.m.
Don't Tase Me, Sonny!
SD, you amaze me. I'm all for drinking on the beach. But once someone gets out of control, I think the cop should be able to break his/her knee caps, if that's what it takes. I've been at too many clubs where a drunk person ruins it for everyone. And the bouncers try to "gently" escort the person from the premises, only for it to become some big fight. So, SD, you explain what proper procedure would've worked, with this old lady that didn't want to get a ticket or handcuffed. If they are older and not as mobile, as you say, why are they behind the wheel of a vehicle, which can kill someone (if it drives thru a building, as happened here in San Diego the other day). If you are out driving, walking around, eating at restaurants, drinking in a bar...I don't care your age and gender, you follow rules. If you can't, the police show up. If the police try to question you or cuff you, and you don't go along, then they should have the authority to tase the living crap out of you. It's really as simple as that. If you disagree with this logic, you're part of the problem, not the solution.— June 13, 2009 10:46 a.m.
David Letterman Controversy
Well...Letterman has faulty logic if he says he was talking about the 18-year-old, because it was the 14-year-old that was at the Yankees game with Sarah, not the 18-year-old. That being said...I didn't find the rehashing of the jokes all that entertaining. I thought Letterman could've been funnier (and even nastier), in his responses. And, the best think Palin could've done, was stay out of the fray. Let all the Republican talking heads get angry for her. That way, she'd garner all the sympathy, Dave would get all the hate, and she'd benefit from it. Because really, every time she opens her mouth, she puts her foot in it. I just heard on the radio, that all this controvery enabled Dave, for the first time in a long time, to beat the Tonight Show (with Conan). So, again, Palin talking is merely helping Letterman.— June 12, 2009 11:07 p.m.
David Letterman Controversy
That's really interesting. I didn't know Letterman did that. I was surprised when, for weeks one time, Letterman was knocking Republicans and praising Democrats...and Michael Moore appeared on his show. I thought it would be a cake walk for Moore, and Letterman asked what he's done with the over 50 million he made on his last film. Moore was stunned, didn't answer for a few seconds, and when Letterman pressed again, asking if he donates to a lot of charities and causes, Moore said "I use that money to make more movies, that exposes these people..." Which really, tells you all you need to know about Moore. But, I was surprised Letterman did it. Regarding this current controversy, I thought it was funny when shows asked what Letterman would think if people made fun of his son. I really think he wouldn't care. I think he realizes...if he and his wife did something that made the news, and comedians/talk shows made fun of that fact, and his son was part of that, he'd understand. I mean, lots of people (himself included), made fun of that crazy stalker he had, that was constantly breaking into his home.— June 12, 2009 9:53 a.m.
Don't Tase Me, Sonny!
I just noticed...I titled this blog "Don't Tase Me, Sonny" as a play on that college student that said "Don't Tase me, Bro." But the funny thing is...the old lady actually DARED the cop to tase her. He had said he was going to tase her if she didn't cooperate and she said "I dare you to tase me." And, just to further explain myself. I'm not saying I would've necessarily tased her at that point. I just thinking this officer can't possibly be in the wrong for doing it. If this woman sues, the cops better not settle. They should make sure the attorney knows they will counter sue, for the legal costs.— June 12, 2009 1:53 a.m.
Phil Spector and the Police (not a new band, new criminals)
SPECTOR UPDATE: Have you seen the mug shots of Phil Spector? Bald, with just some long hair in the back. He looks like an evil Larry David.— June 11, 2009 9:16 p.m.
Drumming is My Madness
Yeah, that book was a great read. Can't think of the authors name, but he's done a few books that are amazing (nick hornsby is it? or is that the dude that sings those cheesy paino ballads?) But, High Fidelity was a really well done film. I do agree, that Cusack gets a lot more love than many actors that are better than him.— June 11, 2009 9:15 p.m.
