Conspiracy Theories

Although I don't feel Bush or his administration had anything to do with 9/11, I definitely think a large part of him was happy about it. I mean, think about it. Politicians (most of them) are selfish, and really don't care about anyone put themselves and their career. And when he went to ground zero with a bullhorn, his popularity was sky high. And yeah, all those other reasons why, he was a bit happy with as well. The thing with UFOs is this. I always believed there probably is something else out there. The universe is just to big for our little blue marble to be it. But I talked to a scientist once when I was a teenager. I'm going to mess this up, but...he said we know that no aliens live in our solar system. So, if they lived in the nearest solar system, it would take them 1,000 years, traveling at light speed, to get here. So, these aliens would look worse than the cast of Cocoon! And what life form would be able to live that long? So, he doubted that anyone sees flying saucers, but that they see things they can't explain -- shooting stars, military exercises, weather balloons, etc. Now, regarding JFK, it was him and only him (oswald). He got his job at the book place BEFORE it was ever even announced that Kennedy would be traveling down that road. But if you really, truely want to know that entire story, read the amazing book CASE CLOSED. It tells you everything you need to know, and after reading it, you'll be convinced there was no conspiracy. Just a crazy guy that had a few lucky shots.

Don't Tase Me, Sonny!

I have a friend that hates, absolutely hates, the fact that there are female cops. He claims that if two big guys in a bar are fighting, some 5'7" female isn't going to help the situation. Whereas I think women can be valuable, in the sense that a lot of men might be calmer with a female and less combative. refried...guess what? I have a friend whose dad retired, after 30 years as one of the head cops in San Diego (he was always in the paper). And guess what he said about the Rodney King video. That, people viewing that need to watch it from the beginning, and with the volume that none of the news shows showed. The cops continue to yell "stay down, stay down!" as he kept getting up, and kept getting beat. Believe me, the video looks awful. And I'm not trying to justify it. But remember, the first jury found that those cops were justified in his beating. Why do you think that is? Because, they saw/heard things that the public didn't. So please, before telling me to watch the video, maybe you should talk to 12 jurors that saw THE REAL video. SD...again, your point about cops and teachers getting all this additional training...it's just insane. Cops shouldn't have to know a billion different ways, of dealing with a billion different people. Sure, they should be told if the kid is 10, he doesn't need to be tased or a 90 year old, okay, fine. But, this is the same argument I had with a professor at SDSU that says you should never spank a kid. There are going to be a time or two, at least, that that is required. Just as some old person that won't let you cuff them. An old person should know they are fragile and could get hurt, and they should go OUT OF THEIR WAY, to not get in a situation that would hurt them. That would mean not provoking cops. Not walking down a dark alley in a bad neighborhood, etc etc etc. Cops jobs aren't to kiss our butts and be nice, and not hurt us. It's to catch people breaking the law. When they ask questions, you answer them. When they tell you to put your hands behind your back, you don't fight, flinch, or ask why because "I didn't do anything." You do what you're told. If you don't, I say they tase you in your eye ball. I really don't care if you go blind. (on a side note: they said no person has ever died from a heart attack after being tazed, even old people...I thought when I heard that it wasn't true, because I seem to recall hearing about someone dying from it...but I'm going by what the news said)
